Virtua Fighter?

Besides, Tekken has always had a strong tournament following, as has Soul Calibur (and with the advent of SCV, it actually deserves it).

Virtually every game has tournament followings. Something everyone should realize after discovering that there's competitive Pokemon is that just about any game that can be played competitively will be played as such

EDIT: Though to be honest I forget Virtua fighter exists. They release that series so rarely to any consoles and I just don't follow arcades (the only reason I'd even go to an arcade is to play Tekken 2 or 3 ).

Well, the point is, Virtua Fighter always has been and always will be considered hallowed ground.

In the case of DoA, it just isn't that huge on the competitive scene compared to other games. Which might have something to do with it being a shallow fighter that sells itself on sex appeal more than anything else.

In fact, the only 3D fighters appearing at Evo this year were Soul Calibur V and Mortal Kombat 9.

That's awesome. Saddest purchase I've ever made too. I got it to play with friends, but nobody ever wants to play it. Screw em, there's still fun to be had running up the ladder.
