Would you support a switch to multiple race releases?
Yes, it sucks to have to wait 10 years for a new codex.
Yes, but will never happen.
Yes, in theory, but the complexity of 40k won't allow it.
No, it doesn't work, Privateer Press has gone to forces books, which are like codexes.
No, I like the cycle of codex releases.
No, for other reasons.
I like the alternate FOC list idea, not multirace codex updates.

GW should clearly define the personality of each race in fluff and game stats and mechanics. (they do this pretty well) Then they must enforce these boudaries upon other races in each new codex. Eldar should not be denied psychic powers half the time. A psychic hood should not have the same effect on an Ork as an Eldar.

Then they need to have a set rotation of codex updates. If Dark Eldar still play as well with a 10 year old codex, fine, but give them some love now and then with Characters or models. If the codex doesn't need a rewrite, then give it an update with a downloadable pdf document.

I wasn't around during the Chapter Approved days. I don't know why they stopped doing it, but from a customer point of view, I love the idea. Just as long as the game stays balanced. I think if GW stuck to a formula for each race, then they could keep things balanced.

I need to start a game company.....

I would love to see GW adopt an intelligent way of doing things. But unfortunately they don't give a s**t. They have the mentality a lot of companies do after doing really well for a while, they believe that we as their customers owe them. They do everything with the attitude that we will continue to shovel money at them no matter what they do. Obviously this stopped working a few years ago but they can't get out of that arrogent mentality so they just hike up prices constantly to further alianate the customers they still have.

Everything they do is counter intuitive. They don't care about supporting the hobby, they don't care if their rules suck and are 10 years out of date, they don't care if they release a new SM codex every month but every xeno has to wait a decade, they don't care that white dwarf is now nothing but a shody magazine of adds that you have to pay out the arse for. They just don't care because we'll continue to buy their crap and if we don't they'll just raise the prices for the people who do.

I was hoping PP would show GW that they can't take their customers for granted and need to go back to their roots as a beloved game company who is part of the hobby instead of an alouf jerk who acts like they resent their own products.

It makes me sad that GW has such a monopoly on the entire wargaming market. I've tried to find alternative games to 40k, and Fantasy even but it's impossible in my area. It's hard enough to find a game of 40k, which I think is the most commonly played wargame.

I've seen some games that look really, really good such as: Battlefield Evolution (I bought the book and then read on the forums the game is essentially dead), AT-43, Confrontation, Flames of War ( I don't like WW2 though) and some other games really caught my eye, but I can't find anyone that would begin to play with me because they already play 40k.

But as Skullkandy said, everyone religiously dumps their money into GW and their products, and it's getting to the point of utter ridiculousness. It's like when there is a new codex release, or heaven forbid a model released for a unit in a year-or-more old codex it's like everything has stopped and we all need to drop our cash money into GW products. GW does it because we buy it, we buy it because GW does it, the pattern repeats itself.
