No they aren't. They look like power rangers on steroids with rickets. Bolters and chainswords are cool, but those used to belong to virtually every army.

Bringing this Thread back from the Dead for a related question. So we've established GW sells more SMs than everything else combined but is that including or excluding Chaos Space Marines?
Like why isn't there a Codex: Iron Warrios, Codex: Alpha Legion, Codex Night Lords and so on. They all certainly are different enough.

Space marines sell - I understand - three times more models than the next most popular army, which is Chaos Space Marines.
I don't know why there aren't different codices for the chaos legions - they are so different - some of them wear completely different coloured armour! That clearly requires a slew of new codices and Dark Eldar can just piss of and wait another ten years. Serves them right for not being Space Marines.

I think a couple of the CSM armies should have their own codices, Black Legion, World Eaters, Death Guard, Emperor's Children, Thousand sons. Kind of like the marines, the major books. I would even be okay with them having a bigger codex with each legion in it, like they did in the last Codex. They need some Ork novels

Everyone is talking about how GW loves all space marines. I point you to the Iron Warriors. But CSM should defiantly get additional codex's

Well, the GW studio has a large Iron Warriors army.
I guess it currently hits the shelf.

I'm sorry but I' going to have to agree with demand before supply. A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away GW created 40k. All the races were somewhat unique, and all were as fair as one can expect from a new tabletop game. But people liked space marines more, they were human, they were armoured, wielding automatic rocket lawn-chairs, who could kill 100 normal men alone and crush a mans skull with the palm of their hand.
People bought space marines more, so GW gave them more love. And thats how we got to the Imperium we have today, with space marines outnumbering Orks.

Enough of your logic. There's obviously a grand conspiracy to make Space Marines popular.

Actually quite a bit of marketing is about creating demand that wasn't there before.
I'm not taking a position on this argument either way-- just stating a fact.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Well, in my area, it's 40K by a large margin. You're pretty well going to see a 40K tourney every month, but I've yet to see an actual game of Fantasy.
One store in town does LorR weekly though. That's about the extent of the Fantasy community as I know it in Barrie.

Bloodbowl has the best ruleset and background. 40k has the best models. 40K is the most popular. This is true for all wargames, not just GW. I have spoken my mind and stated the truth.
