Dishwashing soap, specifically a blue liquid that smells minty and is made by Dawn.
Is fun having minty models while working on them

I tried that once, but then the cat decided it liked minty models too. :(
Since then, I use very watered down Simple Green. I have the stuff around for stripping paint anyway, so it makes for a good cleaner as well.

I'm a bit leery of using Simple Green when cleaning models, just because when I tried it once(even something like a 20:1 water/simple green mix) there were weird spots where even the primer didn't stick.

Yes actually I'd be more concerned with the actual models myself. What are people's opinion on Resin? I've only heard bad things. Like its like working with glass.

Then they have no clue what the hell they're doing.
Working with resin is like working with plastic. Just the plastic needs a thorough cleaning(which hey, you should be doing anyways right? RIGHT?) and requires cyanoacrylic superglue, careful sanding/filing(depending on the size of the kit. A lot of the infantry don't have that issue) and some occasional gap filling.

Why does it need such a thorough cleaning?

Because of the mold release agents and other gunk that gets on the pieces after casting.

Are you good at painting?
The one thing I don't like is when they come in with a 'uge army of crappily painted minis that have at least 4 coats of paint.
Mainly because I'm poor and the first thought is "Oh god the wasted money" But hey.

Not hard to work with.
1. Cleaning - FW use some awful mould release agent so you need to give them a soak in tepid water and then a scrub with an old toothbrush and some dish soap or hand soap.
2. Warping - FW has a habit of demoulding early which warps larger components. Not really a problem for mini's but can be a major problem for vehicle parts (especially hydra barrels!). Pour some boiling water into a cup. Dip the part you want to straighten into the water (as little as possible - just the bit where the bend is if possible) and give it 10-30 seconds depending on how thick it is. When it comes out it should be soft and pliable, thin bits will actually go floppy. Put it into the position you want (a straight edge or a tile are useful) and then put it under cold water (or just hold it while it cools).

This is BS it depends on his skill level!
Yes, FW is expensive but so is GW.
If he CAN do a army in 2 days, he should
It takes roughly a day of prep work, and another day of soaking just to clean the parts--even on something as small as infantry.
If you're rushing it, you're doing it wrong. Seriously.
Never had these problems, I guess I'm doing something wrong.
