Eldratar, Logan, Vulcan, and Pedro. No point in really bringing up anyone else, though Dante probably is close.

Mephiston ftw..... Dante is still S4 which means a melta can insta kill him.

mephiston v. Abaddon, Mephiston wins 75% of the time.

Mephiston can (if powers go off) fly, have a S10 force weapon, can reroll hits, and if going agianst an independent character, there is a 50/50 chance of being able to reroll hits and misses. He has fleet, T6, I7.

As an ork player, Ghazghkull for sure. Snikrot... nice ability for 85 points (even though freakin' SW Wolf Scouts get basically the same thing AND melta guns AND melta bombs... AND 4+ armor save... GRUMBLE). If you're allowed to bring IC with him, he's a game changer. Otherwise, a nice tool in the toolkit, but not really overpowered. Plus, he competes with nobz, burnas, and lootas for my precious Elite slots, so he's not always a "must have."

In my Chaos army, I never use any characters, but I guess Abaddon would have to be recognized as a raging bad ass. The rest... meh. A lot of expensive, non-eternal warriors.

my vote would be a tie between Lelith & Eldrad.
Lelith for her ability to kill anything & survive almost indefinitely, Eldrad for his buff & denial potential.

Those two would be my personal favorites, but as has already been mentioned, I think Vulkan is the best currently for reasons already mentioned...

While I acknowledge that this is totally anecdotal and pretty much a statistical anomaly, Lelith has died to 3 out of 3 6+ Strength hits that I have put on her when I've faced her.

All of the Tau ones suck for the most part.

I think that Skulltaker is a bad mammajamma, I cannot wait to run him on a juggy or chariot. And it is important to remember he's only 1/2 an hq slot.

@Radical Bob: I wouldn't worry about it. My luck will probably average out and I won't kill Lelith again until 2013.

Abbaddon is decent in a fight but, overall I think he is way too expensive.

If he was in power armor he'd be fine but that Terminator armor is really slowing him down.

In order to get him anywhere you need a LR. If your taking a LR you need to take a squad to go in the LR with Abbaddon. In the end he costs you over 600-700 points in order to get a complete assault unit. Sure whatever the hell he runs into will die horribly but, that is one heck of a price to pay to massively overkill something.

Abbaddon is the proverbial moose asking for a muffin.

I'd have to say that the Mad Dok should be included in the list. Sure, he's not as gamebreaking as Vulkan or Ghaz, but the ability to confer FnP on anything is pretty slick. Not to mention the 'Ard Boyz +Mad Dok screen with 4+/4+ giving everything behind it 4+ cover.

The Dok is alright, but his "oh look, a gun drone!" run off into the distance can get annoying.
