Still though, making a jibe at someone's weight? Not on.
According to the Telegraph Corden had been making personal jokes at the expense of nomiees and presenters all evening. He was fair game for a return comment, and should have known it.
I am yet to source what he actually said about anyone else, perhaps that would shed fuirther light on it.
Albatross wrote:
If it had been funny, it would have been fine - but it wasn't, it just came across as an insult for no reason.
Corden was threanening and got between Sir Patrick and the microphone and disrupted what he was saying. Take another look at the footage notice how Corden actually stoops so that his own head is in direct LOS block between Sir Patricks eyeline and the microphone then turns and glares at him. This is while he is 'asking' for the punchline. No wonder he bombed from that point, a total disruption. Its hard enough presenting awards and ad libbing on camera without half a ton of hypocritical 'comic' bearing own on you at the time.

I can't believe he thought it was a good idea to get in an argument with Captain Picard. I'm surprised he didn't just be like, "setting lasers from stun to kill" and the dude just blow the feth up.

Just watched it again, I still think that the best thing Steward could have done was to have ignored the fat runt (feel free to swap the "r" for a "c" there).
Corden was being offensive for the sake of it, probably trying to grab some more media attention to prop up his flagging tv career and his piss poor effort of a world cup single with Dizzy "dill weed" Rascal.
Lets just hope that his next media appearance is on the 10 o'clock news for waddling in front of a high speed train.

I think a Fateweaver just got his wings.
@Khornholio - He's still knocking about. He's a lot skinnier now, though.

Definitely not the Captain's finest hour but ditto with whoever the hell that unfunny fat guy was. They both seemed more angry than funny although the fat guy took it much worse. Ah well everyone bombs however Sir Patrick Stewart has had incredibly funny moments particularly that Gervais interview video.
As for his facebook comments, he or whoever owns it does have control which messages gets deleted and which don't....wanna guess which ones will make the cut?

I have been accepting MGS's invitation to check up on Facebook.
the vast majority there seem to think it is fine to bully on an old man, some even considered it restrained. With dimwits like these populating our nation no wonder we are in a mess. Discourtesy happens, but here discoutesy is being lauded as a vuirtue.
Something has gone fething wrong. I will have to take a closer look at Facebook in future, I didnt know how bad the public mentality had sunk.

I was disappointed to see James Corden in Doctor Who last night. That means a chunk of licence fee went into his bank account, and a bit more will do if I buy the DVD release.

From the news stories I read, it makes it seem like Patrick Stewart was the ass. It appears the ones who watched this show came away with a different view. Truth to tell, I can't evision Patrick Stewart jumpimg all over someone without provocation.
I had a friend who was at a premier with him once and was standing at the pissers beside him. Patrick couldn't quite get the flow going until my bud leaned over and said "Make it so, Captain".
He said Patrick started haw hawing at that. I can't see this guy getting all stuffy after that story.
