alright... i've since cooled down. Facts:
1) I had 2 close games of the 3 I played... and the one that wasn't close... well... my opponents dice abandoned him. we both acknowledged that during the game. the only reason I came so far ahead in battlepoints over them is that I played to the objectives, rather than killing my enemies. In fact, victory points wise, my first and third games were nearly dead even with my opponent.
2) None of my players marked me down for bad sportsmanship. I didn't mark any of them down, either.
3) I agree soft scores are important, and have a place in the game. No qualms.
4) The judge took off 3 points for making him have to do his job. I understand that was a dick move, and if I see him again, we will have a few words about this.
5) The tournament was part of a store's series, not just a 1-off tournament or club tournament, so offering to run the next one won't fly.
can we get a lock on this topic, and let it die? I was venting a bit from a BS call yesterday, and its over and done with.

After the orbital strikes, Thunderhawk bombardments, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, fusion and starfire and finally Battle Brothers with flamers had finished cleansing the world of all the enemies of Man, we built a monastery in the center of the largest, most radioactive impact crater. We named the planet "Tranquility", for it was very quiet now.
