Just one point here: Bright lances do nothing against Monoliths. The special rule for monoliths overrules all other special rules for getting extra penetration dice, counting armour as lower than it is, and so forth. So basically what you have is 1 S8 shot that will glance on 6's. Since monoliths ignore shaken and stunned you have a 33% chance of doing something, and no chance of wrecking/blowing it up.
Ack!

Seriously? Crap, mis-read that/mis-remembered that out of my opponent's 'dex (about a month ago). I coulsa swore a Lance trumped the Mono's Living Metal routine ... I knew that melta toys are neutered by it ...

Well, my apologies for the wrong bit of advice on that.

It was indeed a sad day when I read the entry myself...

I ran afoul of Necrons in a pick up game while playing my 9 warwalkers/9 Vypers list.

I basically wound up using Eldrad to Guide two squads of War-walkers using two ELM's, giving me 12 Str 8 shots with rerolls to hit.

The other three war walkers and all 9 vypers had Scatter Lasers, which I used to go Destroyer hunting.

I did lose a bunch of vehicles in the process however.

As some one who has played every army against my crons, there is one thing that beats the living hell out of me every time. Phase out. With the list you said he's taking, his phase out count is under 9. So you drop his necron count to less than 9 after WBB (units in reserve count as alive btw) and you will massacre him every time. That pesky monolith you can't seem to destroy, those Lords w/ WS, all gone. Its been a while since I have played eldar, but dakka down or ap3 template down the warriors. Sure he might use that lith to teleport, but that just groups him up for templates. I am drawing a serious blank as to what weapons the eldar have, (rock star hasn't kicked in yet lol) but as much s8 ap3 templates as you can muster, and s5 dakka guns with good range and you will be triggering phase out pretty quickly. Take the destroyers out first and if you can do that pick necrons off, if you can cause 20 warrior wounds a turn, yes a measly 20, by odds he will save 14, and 6-7 die, getting back only 3 to 4 and leaving those crons consolidating into a bigger squad that can only shoot at one target. Then the rest of your army is free to fire away, not being able to even be shot at because the cron player wont have multiple units. Finish off warrior squads make them consolidate. Ignore the monoliths with all your standard weapons, they are just as usefull after almost all glance results and two thirds of pens. Template and assualt. especially if they teleport through a lith. On a side note, dirty tactic, if you line up a squad of guys in front of that portal, on an immobolised lith, he can only emergency disembark and that leaves the warriors pinned for a turn. buys time if you need it. Eldar specific tactics, facing that fortune reroll is devastating for crons. Just not enough fire power while staying out of assualt range.

Sleep is for the weak, the dead, and the simple minded. One day I will be strong!

The list above I produced with more mobility in mind, but less static fire power- Just stay out of range and snipe with the EML's , pathfinders and shurkien cannons and outflank with the scorps and then move in for the kill with the harlequin payload + DA's?

Total 1500pts

This is the Original List ^ with the hawks dropped (originally they were my anti-monolith crew with their haywire grenades) but if I simpy avoid it... which actually considering the lack of mobility in the list could be difficult if it teleports right into the middle of my guys! Ive also added a Kiss to the Harlequins- can the shadowseer take one as well? Im assuming the Death Jester cant as it specifically says "replacing his other weapons"...

Also I seem to remember reading about using your rangers/pathfinders to charge destroyers to hold them up in close combat while the rest of your army arrives? Anyone tried this? Could I be talking balls?

This is actually really helpful. Very good job putting up everything you have... I really hate to see 3 wraithlords not be used though. It would be nice to have 3 wraithlords and 2 farseers attached to avengers with harlies and vypers assaulting flanks.

It's very dangerous to have 3 T8 creatures armed the same being fortuned and moving up the field. And with harlies, vypers, or anything in serpents dealing with the mobile parts of the enemy lines it can be devastating.

Have you ever popped a transport with fire dragons or EML's and had a wraithlord shoot next? Yep, that's 2 flame templates into you and then you also get assaulted. Let me tell you it can put the hurt on anything.

Also as a note... You probably know this already, but don't ever take phoenix lords unless you have a master plan to go with it. They can be really fun in 500 pt games or 750 but otherwise they're a waste. Spiders and swooping hawks are largely the same... Too many points, too fragile, and don't do nearly enough to justify their cost.

Here is a note on harlies: If they're on foot, ALWAYS take a shadowseer. Also, ALWAYS take kisses. Without them they cannot fulfill their intended function: To counterassault powerful CC units like terminators or single monstrous creatures (tyrants, princes, etc.). You're also correct about the kiss on the jester, he is not allowed to have that upgrade. The shadowseer however, is able to. The shadowseer replaces no weapons, but rather gains the veil and grenades (also a reason he's almost mandatory).

These are what I'd make your list out of. Instant Death STR from the Fire Prism(s) or WraithLords in h2h. Harlies and banshees for h2h fun. DAs with PowerWeps & Defend.
