I have a combination of cases, some old GW small cases (the first ones that came out in the early 90's) a massive GW one that I got as part of an army deal off e-bay (now filled with KR multi-case foam), a bunch of very big tool cases I got when I was in the RAF (filled with bespoke foam from KR) and a couple of Kaiser Two's plus 3 spare Multi-cases.

I have just ordered a Battlefoam 1520 to replace some of the other cases...I want to try and get a full army in one carrying solution...just in the middle of trying to sort out my custom fit.

Lucky find with the malt whisky boxes......with a sheet of fridge magnet inside as a base, then the same on the bottom of each figure, you can rotate if 45degrees without losing anyone!

Nice! Another Home-Made Example, always good to see. Now I know I'm not the only one! I'm thinking of going down the 'Metal and Magnets' Route, as opposed to the Foam. I have some Magnets in a Cupboard, but their Size and Strength were chosen to fit Space Marine Arm Sockets; I don't know if they'd be much use for keeping Terminators, Bikers and Dreadnoughts down! I'll just order some more, and fit them underneath the bases. Any chance of a Detail Shot of the Magnet? Do they touch the ground, or are they just fitted to the Base Underside?

Just have to be careful with the orientation of the magnet stuck to the base....... so they all fit! By the way it won´t stand up to a stack of 3 falling over through 90º...trust me!

Thanks for the Picture! But... the Orientation of the Magnet? Forgive me, but can't you just twist the Miniature round until it's adjacent to the Box Edge?

The polarity means that they only stick in a given direction... or rather they stick a lot better.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. I even considered GF9 Magnetic Bases, but unfortunately my Deathwing are already assembled on Citadel Standard Bases, so I'd need additional Magnets for them anyway. Oh well.

I use foam trays and different army transport bags to swap whichever army I'm using for that day. I want to get a big battlefoam case and combine several armies, but that's down the road.

These were suggested here a while back and look like a nice way to store your minis at least.http://www.homedepot.com/Storage-Garage-Storage/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xr5Zarmi/R-202017339/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 I believe they can fit two sabol size foam trays next to each other. For $20 a pop I can try one and see how they work

I use the Mantic Games carry cases and a poly bag. You just buy however many you need, they come in small and large boxes and they can fit pretty much anything that isn't an awkward shape, but most storage systems would have trouble with them anyway.

They just look like video cassette boxes. :-D

Even more solutions! They just keep coming! Yon Wheeled Storage Container looks like a decent idea as well, if you were planning on taking things Long-Distance. For Example, if you took the Train into Town, and had to walk to the Local Games Workshop from the Station. I do, incidentally, but I doubt I'll ever be taking my Army there; I much prefer the familiar and relaxed atmosphere that my Gaming Club has to offer!

Okay, this is essentially it. I was pretty poor in High school when I started playing this.

this was my method like i stated before..

egg cartons

I had about 8 of these filled, witch would be put into a duffel bag for transport.

any vehicles were put in s shoe box with packing peanuts.

Gun case, just because no one messes with a guy that has a case that MIGHT have guns, and a serious look on his face.

I used to use a toolbox. Currently I'm using a old foldout makeup case that was my little sister's for my troops, bikes and equipment, and a shoebox for my raiders.

If the range wasn't getting redone I'd seriously consider saving up for a Battlefoam case just so I could transport raiders effectively.

Sounds pretty Comprehensive and Well Thought-Out! I agree with everyone that Battlefoam Cases are truly Top Notch Merchandise, but for the Size I'd need, along with the Custom Trays, I could have a Crap-Ton of Plastic Daemons! This happens a lot with me; I can't bring myself to buy the essentials, because I know there's more Plastic Crack out there.

Armytransport bag plus extra boxes with padding if necessary. The latter only really comes in to play if packing for an Apocalypse/2.5K+ games. Or using my Vendettas.

I would recommned KR Multicases as well I have ordered a couple and am in the process of ordering the Kaiser 2 to transport to a tournament. They are well priced, very customisable and thier service is excellent.

My painting and Gaming blog, check it out and let me know what you think.

Currently I use a tool box, which has removable pannels so i make a compartment big enough for what im putting in there, eg: 30 odd guard. then i place foam over the top.
it works well, im just running out of room now that im buying tanks!

a mate of mine has the GW case but for his larger models (Dp and vindicator) he places then in a small box with lots of foam just shoved in.
