oh I just meant if you do... not that your a bad player. didnt mean it to come out that way. It just drives me nutz to hear a guard player complain about their book. most don't but every once in a while.... its pretty absurd.

the new vostroyan models are sick I'm thinking about starting up a force.

I'm not keen on the vostroyans, actually :S... There's something not right about them - if they came plastic multipart, I'd buy them to customise Commanders and squads and the like, but I'd probably not field a squad of them. I just don't like them, although, I can see where you're coming from, they are well detailed etc. Seriously considering buying the command squad, just for the Commander, he looks badass as hell, and I thought about using the banner bearer, because I like the pose

I'm a tank player as well, and I almost always have a blob squad around.

Thanks to GW's immortal wisdom, the drop troops doctrine was removed - so I can no longer have my EPIC airdrops of massive infantry hordes all around everywhere. Especially deadly with meltaguns and flamers, because that really gaks all over the enemy's breakfast.

There's Creed, Harker and Vendettas. And you can always field Al'Raheem as counts-as-whatever-you-want.

The IG book is very solid, but it also has some very stupid things in it. Stormtroopers and Ogryn are horrendously overcosted, half the Russ variants are just bad, and there are a few annoying things like no power fists for infantry commissars (understandable I guess), or lasguns for sergeants (come on, FRFSRF would not be too uber with an extra lasgun).

HQ, veeterans, penal legion, and vechils are the stuff you need (:
