Trukks are fragile to begin with. Every upgrade is points handed to your opponent at some point - none of them survive a battle. The only one I find myself using is the Reinforced Ram, as it makes terrain concerns go away, and offers tactical flexibility in moving through enemy screens.

I run my trukks the same way for the same reasons...

The trukks never survive...they exist simply to get the boyz to the front...once that has been done well, at least the ram lets me tank shock...

Now RPJ on a battlewagon...thats 5 pts well spent!

Boyz and trukks go together like peanut butter and jelly, or fish and chips, or nuetella and good bread

I take big mobs of shoota boyz when I can. 30 of them, 3 big shootas, nob w/PK. Against my friend's Orks, I just sit back and eat his slugga mobs up a little each turn. By the time they're close enough to assault, there's not much left. Against marines it works out pretty well, too, unless they're hiding in transports. It's not so great against vehicles, but there are other ways to deal with them.

I also find a group of slugga boyz with armor can be worth it, too. My trukk mounted 'ard boyz have saved my proverbial bacon more than once just by tying a group up for a couple turns.

How do I roll?

I tend to use a balance of say 30 shootas and 30 sluggas. Works fine becuase you caqn lay down fire on units with the 60 shots from shootas while charging into battle to kill things with assualt power. Or, you could use the slugga boys as bait, and while the enemy fire is directed at the sluggas, you can destroy them with the shootas.

If I ever go KoS, which is unlikely, it's defiently Sluggas and Choppas, but in anything else, I'd take Shootas.

Time ta make sometin' fun!
