The poor atheists think they're picked on. The poor Christians think they're picked on. Both sides should try being gay or transgendered or something, and get some perspective.
Christians are killed in Northern Africa and their churches are burned. Necklacing still goes on. What was that about being picked on again?
That isn't what Christians in the UK complain about though. They are concerned with things like the street preacher who got arrested under the Public Order Offences Act. It is seen as evidence of militant atheism.
Got a link? Im unaware of that story but im sure he deserved it, have you seen what the religious people get away with in the UK? Screaming at people in the streets? Its truly shocking and they should be getting locked up in their droves (mainly muslims) with their ridiculously offensive banners about "Freedom go to hell" and "behead those that insult Islam" and all that nonsense. Their claims of "unfairness" are utterly utterly laughable, because as far as i can see the religious get far MORE protection than they deserve, not less.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels. |

I think that is more to do with England getting obsessed with political correctness. People can do anything and people are afraid that they will offend a religion by saying something.

You mean other than the hundreds of thousands dead in Sudan right? RIGHT?
You mean the hundreds of thousands of Muslims that were killed in the Sudan, which is primarily in turmoil over socioeconomic issues, rather than religion?
Seriously, the Sudan has been less than 5% Christian for the entirety of its history, and Darfur itself has never contained more than a few thousand.

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh. |

The twist made me laugh, but it was a bit Shymalan. My main problem with the film (as others have implied) is the basic idea that people would fight tooth and nail over the last copy of the bible because of the "power of its words". Which is bollocks.
If the word of the bible was so bloody powerful, churches would be packed to the rafters. Back in the real world (otherwise known as the UK), the only time a church fills up is when a pair of hypocrites get married there because it will look good in the wedding photos.

I saw the Road after the Book of Eli and I have to agree the Road was far more 'realistic' where Book of Eli was 'Man on Fire beyond the Thunderdome'. Im just a sucker for Viggo.
They both entertained me so I guess I win.

A lot of people, actually, which makes that comment dangerously close to trolling.
TBH, mattyrm, you are in danger of becoming a bore on the topic of I HAET RELIGION. Couldn't you just put it in your sig file?

P.S. I'm surprised to hear good things about "The Road" I heard that was terrible.
I heard the same thing too.
Over the top (or would that be under the bottom) depressing is the summary I saw...
Really?
Because Rotten Tomatoes gave Book of Eli 47% and rated The Road with a 75%.
