It depends on my opponent.

If they are taking it very seriously - out comes the brmm brmm dakka dakka pew pew whoosh noises.

If they glare at me, it continues.
If they are taking the game that seriously, there are issues involved.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

When me and my friends play, we almost story tell what's going on. For instance, when a van saar ganger(Helios) wants to shoot his lasgun from being one story off the floor at the orlock(Kidd) that's below him, the Outcomes could be..

Roll to hit: hit
Roll to wound: passed
Cover save: failed
Ammo Roll: failed

So, we'd say '' helios fires his lasgun into the darkness below, it hitting kidd, him letting out a groan of pain as he slumps against a nearby wall, his blood forming beneath him in a puddle ''

Sort of like the stuff dungeon masters would say, to add visuals instead of just saying rules. We wouldn't go ''BANG BANG he died!'', we'd add small visuals to really help you feel like you are in the underhive. We usually don't do this with WHFB or WH40K..

We always joke around about stuff and make little stories up for what just happened when I play with my brothers, but then again we also grew up playing roleplaying games together. Certain people at the FLGS are fun to talk schmack with too, while others are just there to improve their win-loss ratio. Personally, I like to think of gaming as a liesure actuvity instead of a 'who is more better' competition so no, I don't really take it very seriously at all and want to joke around as often as possible. I mean come on guys, when you win its because you are a tactical genius and when you lose it was just bad dice, right? I just do my best because it's fun to try to win, but I put more faith in the fact that the Dice Gods think I'm cool. Yeah when I took down a Hive Tyrant with the gun but of a sniper rifle in close combat I named the figure, wrote a short story about it, etc. The Tyranid player fumed a bit afterwards but we still tell the story two years later.

If this annoys someone I stop, but in general most folks laugh and join in the fun once someone cracks the ice. The ability to laugh at your own mistakes or misfortune is priceless when it comes to making friends. If someone gets annoyed by my silliness I just get down to business and try my best to whoop some ass. Much more fun making fun of yourself when you last member of your entire IG army is running off the table and happens to be the guy carrying the flag... "I shall live to tell the tale!" etc.

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.

I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.

Now this wouldn't bother me in the slightest, but I am aware from inference that you actually know how to play the game as well.

Then again, if you only do it to 'vry srs plyrs', then I might not get to see it. :(

It's only really the suggestion that I might 'lack' imagination because I don't act out every thought that comes into my head that bothers me.
