If you have trouble with your hands shaking i have two suggestions you can try:
1st- try bracing your elbows against your desk. Hold your model and find a comfortable position where both of your hands can brace themselves off of each other. This works well for me. For example I will hold my figure with one hand and brace my painting hand with the top of my fingers from the other hand...hmm guess its hard to explain without a picture to reference.
2nd- you can always paint the eye first, then go back and outline it and clean it up with the color of your armor. thats a technique many people do

Hey man that Marine looks great! I can definately notice that you highlighted armor. Though your first batch was nice as well, this one looks much better. The eyes also look alot better. With more practice, your painting will get sharper and the methods you choose to use will look even better as you continue to get a feel for the colors your using. Even 5-10 guys from now you will be able to look back at these early characters and notice a difference. The dude looks fantastic though!

Agreed. Just be sure to be a bit tidier in the future. It looks like you have color spilling into places where they're not supposed to, such as his left shoulder pad rim and chest eagle. Despite that though, you have made a great deal of improvement from your last model.

HEllo! one thing i can offer unless osmeone else already did..it is very very impotant to WATER DOWN YOUR PAINTS!
A few brushfulls of paint and a solid drop of water. mix well. It makes the paint less thick and goopy on the model. I am not saying your paint job is goopy...you jsut want to aoid that at all costs.
A technique you may wanna try is this. after priming..paint the model in a REALLY REALLY watered down DARK GREEN. then apply a watered down coat of a lighter green..but only hit the raised areas..as well as flat surfaces but stay away from the edges..then drybrush some highlights of an even lighter shade of green.
Salamanders were my first army bck in like 2001...3rd edition. flamers and meltas are an awesome combo! Add Vulkan Hestan as an HQ and all those become master crafted...AWESOME! Have fun with the army bro!!
