There could've been more wings if I could somehow fit harpies into the list, but then I didn't want to sacrifice my trygons to do so.

Mmm, it's an interesting Tyranid list. I would re-configure it a little though, as this battle report neatly illustrates what it is lacking.

Diversify the Tyrants. One with Wings, quad-Devourers & old Adversary, the other with Hive Commander, Old Adversary & quad-Devourers. Hive Commander on both is redundant since it doesn't stack, and keeping one Tyrant back gives you an Old Adversary bubble to benefit your Tervigon/Termagant swarms.

Lose the unit of two Hive Guard, and use the points saved (combined with the 85 from losing 1x Wings * 1x Hive Commander from the Tyrants) to get a unit of 8 Ymgarl Genestealers. These are invaluable for picking units out of well-defended cover (like the Long Fangs), and present an even more immediate threat to your opponent than the deep-striking Trygons/Tyrant.

Lastly, lose 4 Gargoyles and merge the remains into one unit. This gives you maximum benefit from FNP, increases the chances of you surviving an enemy assault/shooting phase and allows you to take Adrenal Glands on your Trygons.

Good battle though, enjoyed it.

Interesting. 1 flyrant with a big gargoyle unit and 1 walkrant without a tyrant guard for protection. I like the idea of the ymgarls, which I find to be great units. I just don't like the idea of the lone walkrant.

Originally, my idea was a coordinated assault with 2 flyrants and 2 units gargoyles coming in from the flanks and then the 3 trygons and raveners come in to help overload the threats to the flanks as well. The ymgarls would have been a nice touch as it would add to the overall threat level with a 7th fast threat. However, by removing 1 flyrant, it makes it easier for the opponent as you are removing 1 more threat that they have to worry about (at least initially). IMO that would decrease the danger level of my list.
