People find it complicated because they are usually going into it completely raw, because its popularity and appeal it is often the first miniature war game people play. It has separate rules for vehicles, but walkers follow some of rules for infantry, but they are a vehicle, bikes have their own rules, and even though I think of a bike as a vehicle it wounds like infantry. Besides that every army has their own rules and codex.

Now that I've played a few games I've noticed its going easier, but I have to admit the first games were pretty tough.

I remember when I first played Assault on Black Reach when I just started out. His face when I explained to him the instant death rule, and how is captain is dead was priceless.
