My imperial guardsmen come from a planet that is basically Sicily. Medium skin tones, semi-arid, and is basically run by a more fractious and contentious mafia. Actually, it's run not all that dissimilar to the papacy, except with more civil war.

As for where I live, Illinois is basically THE archetypal "continental" climate.

Mahtamori wrote:A moderately small, but highly prosperous, craftworld with very little in the terms of aspect temples, it protects itself mainly by diplomacy with other, more prominent, craftworlds and by keeping a relative isolation with the exception of it's extensive trading fleet. Throughout the millennia, the craftworld has altered between a stance of high aggression and periods where diplomacy has reigned - at one point it even formed a formidable powerhouse where three smaller craftworlds flew as one under the mutually agreed leadership of a female Farseer from my craftworld, but alas the period of union perspired as she died.

It's people suffered periods of wars which saw the craftworld grow in dominance during the Craftwars to a height only Ulthwé now rival, but these wars lasted far too long and saw the craftworld impoverished as Farseer after Farseer set about to set their individual mark on the galaxy. Eventually it came to pass that one particular Farseer, attempting to follow in the footsteps of his father, overreached his means and subsequently lost his life, the conquests of his forebears and more besides.

Since the conquests and wars, the craftworld has suffered very little and escaped even when seemingly the entire galaxy was afire, a period of peace that the craftworld prides itself upon, especially as it was only interrupted by a very short rattling of arms when a portion of the craftworld wished for it's independence, which was granted it - something which has worked to both people's advantage since.

The people of the this craftworld are not given to the decadence to the same extent as might be found on other craftworlds, and have a mild temperament - something reflected in the craftworlds internal echo-system. One drawback of this largely guardian-based craftworld is that it has an extensive bureaucracy, which tend to create injustices simply, even though this should not happen.

By large, the people of the craftworld are not very nationalistic and even less spiritually inclined, they have nearly abandoned the dead gods of the Eldar pantheon and cancelled the tradition of a young king. It is unique in that it is the only craftworld in which a shard of Khaine does not reside. On the other hand, the people are creative and ingenious and have not lost the spark to manufacture or create new weaponry, inspite of the craftworlds insignificance.

The craftworld still serve extensively as it was originally intended, as a trading vessel, and trade both between Eldar craftworlds and various human or Tau planets, albeit with decidedly more stealth and subterfuge than with their racial kin. It is not unkown that the craftworld has offered services to the Empire of Man or the Tau Federation that they are unable to provide themselves, relocating smaller sections of populations, providing intel, or transporting goods at speeds the lesser races simply can not manage - legally or otherwise. Whatever their dealings with other races, the craftworld has never since the end of the Craftwars taken hostile actions, direct or indirect, against other craftworlds.

My hometown: A fortress dedicated to knowledge. And the fine art of stomping other races into oblivion in the glorious sport of metal. ir rains/ snows six months of the year, rest of said year we have bad weather. We suffer from mongrels who leads us, they work with the foul xenos and heretics instead of purging them! But the faithful will prevail.

Let's see.

Temperate/cool in the winter (sometimes, it even snows... maybe once a year, if we're lucky), temperate to hot in the spring, very hot in the summer, hot to temperate in the fall. Usually very humid when it gets hot, but doesn't usually actually rain that often. Probably a hive world of some sort (three of the largest cities in the U.S.A. are in this region). Low-level college education is becoming pretty standard here with most of the community colleges graduating into full public colleges and expanding with more and more new campuses to meet the needs of the population, so I imagine the middle- and lower-middle class of the populace would be slightly more educated than the standard Imperial citizen. The poor and destitute would probably be about the same as normal for a hive city, with some sections having more gang violence than others.

Promethium exports, cogitator and dataslate exports, and military production sites would probably indicate a strong AdMech, Guard, and Administratum presence. Local culture would probably indicate a relatively faithful population with a strong tradition of military service. Very corrupt government, local politicians constantly battling eachother for more power, to exert their control and espouse their views into the education systems of nearby planetary systems in the subsector.

Due to local production, the PDF would have more advanced aerospace vehicles to assist in defense, as well as plenty of motivated soldiers, who would often move on to become Guard. Rough Riders are a distinct possibility, though more likely used to police the streets rather than in serious combat. Because of the local production of cogitators (computers) and the presence of a few major trading houses which specialize in them and their use, the planet's PDF is probably better equipped than normal Imperial worlds, as is the local law enforcement agencies.

Eh, too lazy to go on. Just thinking about the local region (rather than hometown) made into an Imperial world.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

I hail from a Planet that is 60% water 20% Ice and 20% Landmass. Although is was colonized not long after the Heresy the population has never really grown significantly enough to start any proper Imperial guard legions and currently the Planet relies on the protection of nearby planets. It's main export is foodstuffs, (aquatic) and energy cells for las-weapons. The people of the Planet are peaceful, but can be vary of outsiders and are ruled by a corrupt governor who is secretly in league with chaos

It has been varified by John Hurt that the Ultramarines are indeed the greatest space marine chapter.

Your planet is just a bland imperial world not nothing bad/good with a slight chance for a inquisition junction for the liberals.... remember faith is purist when unquestioned

Aye the faithful will prevail indeed for it is best to kill 10,000 innocent lives then to let one heretic live
