It should or shouldn't? You were saying they shouldn't before.

That should read shouldnt, yes my spelling does indeed get sloppy at times.

Why do you hate action movies? Pretty explosions and cool action can be just as entertaining as an intense and complicated plot.

Oh I dont hate action movies at all, in fact the movie I mentioned earlier, Suckerpunch, is what id consider an action movie. Yes it isnt out till next year, so cant say if the story is good or not. The concept is good, but wether the story is good or not is a different story(no pun intended).

Ideally you want a bit of both - that's why 'Inception' rocked ass. Now there's a film that would be pretty cool in 3D.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

3D isn't ruining movies, that's crazy talk. It's just an effect,

The Resident Evil franchise has sucked throughout, but they keep making them because people keep going to see them. Meanwhile unusual works like Scott Pilgrim struggle to get any kind of audience at all. Hollywood knows what is a good investment, and what is a bad investment. Tired franchises with a string of bad movies but an established fanbase indifferent to quality are a good investment.

If people want Hollywood to stop making crap movies they should stop going to see them. 3D isn't the problem.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

Its so lame -_-...

Yes, the feelings that the scenes are simply staged for the effect is part of what I'm on about.

For example,in the Resident Evil film we watched last night, there were over a dozen ridiculously unnecessary scenes that were obviously there only for the "wow the bullet came right at me." effect, again horror/action so while it is understandable...why take the easy route???

Particularly in the horror genre 3D effects could add alot to the overall "vibe" of the film, "Quarantine in 3D" could have been very intense.

But it does indeed seem the 3D format is less of a tool of film making and more of a gimmick.

Of the few 3D movies I've seen the only one I thought the 3D was really helpful for was "How to Train Your Dragon." Excellent film. Most 3D is just a bad movie...with 3D.

OT but Dear God, how did they get Ralph Feinnes, Ian McGregor, and Emma Thompson in a McPhee movie? It was actually quite good.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

I have no issue with 3D, it's just a technique like anything else. In some cases it's used amazingly well. Say what you want about Avatar's story, you can't say the movie wasn't gorgeous. In others, i.e. any 3D movie that insists on throwing something at the audience, not so much.

Inception could have been pretty cool in 3D but the movie hardly "rocked ass".

Also 3d movies give me headaches. And having to wear glasses at the movie sucks.
