Here is an idea of what went on.

On this forum, i have been called the following : f*ck , c*unt , sh*t , b*tch.

And not once were the user been punished just because dakka have filter.
Now , i retorted after been called such names , and called the person a jerk.

I get reported and received warning by mods. Is this fair?

This is akin to:

A bad guy opened fire on police , and the police used force to take the criminal down.
Luckily , the police only suffered bruises due to the bullet vest protected from the shot.
But the criminal sufered 3 broken teeth in the struggle.
Later the judge ruled police guilty because the damage done of 3 teeth is more than a bruise.

Wait wait wait.

Is the word "stank"?

To be honest, if someone wants to talk like that over the net, let em.

Well, warnings are done privately. So you don't know if they have been warned and they don't know if you have been warned.

The legal system doesn't work like that. And I wouldn't compare yourself to a policeman in that situation.

Well if that seems fair to you , so be it.

Just think of those who say "grow a thicker skin" as those people who complained that somebody snitched on them when they were little. They obviously haven't grown up past that stage.

First off, to be fair Luna, You're at the center of a lot of stuff. There comes a point where the mods probably get tired of protecting you, and like has been pointed out, you don't know what warnings are going out to those involved.

That said, yeah, the moderation policy of Dakka is at best counterproductive. If somebody posts garbage, then rub their nose in it and let all of us see it. A policy in which pretty much every member feels their the victim of preferential treatment isn't good in the long run.
