... and not all Sisters have to come from the Schola, either, what's your point? Just because it's not 100% doesn't mean it isn't their primary recruiting source.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

There are certainly entire imperial guard armies composed of female troopers from matriarchal societies mentioned in the imperial guard codices, it's a given that those regiments and platoons would have elite troops (storm troopers) in them.

As an aside, Dark Heresy rulebook does state that the Imperium as a whole is sexist and bigoted, that of course is a sweeping generalisation of epic proportions but was worthy of noting. Given the religion of the God-Emperor and the structure of the Imperium, it's patriarchal over all.

The Imperium is bloody massive, with regards societies and cultures of humans in it, if it's feasible, then it's likely to exist someplace. Female dominated societies likely exist on lots of worlds, with variations therein.

Those are not Stormtroopers. Stormtroopers are members of their own, special, Stormtrooper-only regiment.

Bleh. I prefer Pratchett's "Black and white lived in perfect harmony and ganged up on green."

Also, you can play a female Stormtrooper / Commissar / Arbitrator / Techpriest / whatever in the FFG series of games. The only groups that are gender-restricted are Astartes (a rule that, in my experience, is commonly ignored) and Sororitas.

But what of the writefaggotry?!

And the endless laughs to be had from the various stories about Kharn?!

He didn't say "primary recruiting source". He said "they all recruit from the same place". Which isn't true, as an absolute statement.

Please. Learn reading comprehension if you're going to try to have a discussion here.

*sigh*

CajunMan was incorrectly assuming that the orphans recruited into the Stormtroopers weren't the same orphans that might otherwise be recruited into the Commissariat or the Adepta Sororitas. They do all recruit from the same place (the Schola Progenium), even if they don't recruit exclusively from the Schola Progenium.

If we reread the original post...
orchewer wrote:Not interested in starting a "Female Space Marines???" kinda thread, but I'm toying with piece of fluff in my head centered around a squad of Kasrkin and I was wondering if there's anything in the canon that explicitly says whether or not there are female Kasrkin or Storm Troopers in the Imperial Guard?
I know there's definitely female troopers (Gaunt's Ghosts, Last Chancers etc.) out there, but are they allowed to become storm troopers or do they just get shunted off into becoming Sisters of Battle once they're picked up from the schola progenium?
Thanks!

You'll note the question was about storm troopers/kasrkin, so fighting elites, as the storm troopers are a universally trained bunch from the schola pregenium and the karskin are founded on cadia by the cadian imperial guard. So, we can add to that the grenadiers from the death korps and so on, so, in the vastness of the imperium's fighting forces, it is known that there are all female guard armies, of those, it is not unlikely that some might have their own versions of the grenadiers/kasrkin/stormtroopers. It is also likely that female troops of exceptional abilities would certainly be likely selected for storm trooper training.

Before someone starts the 'women are physically inferior to men' talk, remember that you could combine Escher style society with a Deathworld/quasi Ogryn/Catachan style 38k of evolution and get this!

Soroitas are all females O.o
Well anyway. I can't support any of the information people have submitted. I can't really become part of the thread. As This is not my field of work. Female space marines exist... In the Space wolves chapter....

I expect someone with a Space Wolves codex can confirm or refute that statement.

The fluff regarding female space marines is that the conversion process is said to impossible for women. As the two lost primarchs cannot be confirmed not to be women, the possibility exists that they might be women. This would mean that female marines are possible but are suppressed for other reasons.

The Space Wolves Primarch was a man, though.

This is all off topic, so please don't continue this line of discussion.

Actually, the two lost Primarchs can be confirmed not to be women.

Horus refers to them in "Fallen Gods" as 'brothers lost to Mankind, their potential unfulfilled and stories left untold'.

I would take anything that Horus says with a grain of salt. However, I was under the impression that the Primarchs are the sons of the Emperor, not the daughters.

Back on topic: Yes, there are verified females of pretty much everything except Space Marines. The models probably don't exist because they wouldn't sell? I wish that they would release some though, I'd be glad to cough up $5-10 bucks per box for female IG.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
A portion of my Kasrkins will be female, I'm going to be naming every model.

I'd take what Horus says with less salt than some halfassed theory about female Primarchs.

If Horus says the two Lost Primarchs were his lost brothers, who the Emperor probably told him about upon finding Horus...
Then the two Lost Primarchs are male.

As for why there's no female IG models...
It's the same reason why I think most of the attempts at "boobmarines" are stupid. With armor and fatigues on, they'd look the same as their male counterparts from a distance. There's no real cause for separate models in that case.

So what?

Helmets make that unnecessary. Look at female soldiers versus their male counterparts in the field.

I can't Spell. I am Horrible at Grammar, and I really Really suck at writing down Complete sentences as I am still a High school Student and I am only 16 years old! Do not make fun of the teenager! For They will curse you with Pregancies! *looks at news* I take that back.

Anyway ontopic:
The IG should have females because it be pretty stupid if they don't or else GW would have to change the 40k slogan to And the grim darkness of the Far Future there is Only Women.
Which somehow sounds like a porno D:
But The IG should be recruiting women because some women can kick some IG ass.

To be fair the topic was over and done with by the first few posts.
The answer is yes, females can and often do have a role in every organisation in the Imperium apart from the Space Marines.
