I was able to paint two tyranid battelforces a carnifex two pyrovores, a hive guard, a lictor, a venomthrope ,zoanthorpe 49 genestealers 6 raveners,10 gargoyals biovore and a trygon and 12 warriors within a month. All i did was prime them white, paint fleshy areas pink and toxin sacs, saliva ect.. scorpion green then gave them two washes of devian mud then painted the Armour plates black then matt varnish and done. And it actually looks awesome im amazed how good they look for a quick paint army i get tons of compliments on them. so no matter how you choose to do it dont be discouraged it can be done just keep your deadline in mind and set a good pace Hope this semi helps

progress report:

well i cant find my camera so no pictures for now. but i am trying to find it.
anyway, progress is going vey nicely. about half of them are done just need some washes and touch ups. the over half have only thier skin and guns painted, but its going well (pics coming soon!).unfortunately im pretty sure ive discovered the largest preventer of them all. which seems more apealing: painting over a hundred black reach orks all in like the same pose OR a brand new ghazghkull thraka mini . yeaaaaaah, it took me almost a week to get the resolve to actually work on the boyz and not him. well wish me luck, my deadline is approching!

A trick I learned from Ifurita: try to set up similar models with similar poses to be
painted together. Knowing exactly what you need to hit cuts down on figuring
out each individual model as you go.

I also like the 125/5 math. 25 models a week is cake if you sit down each night to
paint instead of, say, playing video games or whatever else it is that distracts you.

I am currently in the same mess i really want my imperial guard army painted and am sick of seeing primed models... So i called up my buddy who has been in the same frustrated stance about his unpainted army and i have challenged him to a painting race. If i finish my army first he buys me a stormlord if he paints his army first he gets two boxes of terminators. We are both at about 40 % painted currently

[EDIT] Okay, saw the budget thing, you can do the steps below without an airbrush, but add a couple of days, and the overall quality of the speedpaint will be lower [/EDIT]

Okay, get an airbrush. Seriously. Along with that, do not buy canned air, you will only be disappointed. Get a cheap compressor from a garage sale or a local ad or something.

Great, now that we have that out of the way, do the torsos first, I used khemri brown for the torsos of my orcs along with the sand on the base, (You paint that right? Right?),

For each other step, try to stay in the lines, but its not a big deal since time is of the essence and the last step will "cover" it up)

Next arms and faces, you'll have to brush these, use a lighter green, I really like the look of knarlock green for orcs.

Pick out teeth with white, leave the eyes, they aren't worth it.

Now, use a metallic and do all of the weapons, all of them, done worry about the handles of the choppas or details ion the guns, we're speed painting here man!

Looking like crap, huh?

Here comes the magic.

Buy some devlan mud.... a lot of it, we're going to need at least 3 pots.

Using the gun, give everything a decent coat with the stuff. Every part of every orc will be covered, remember to use a well ventilated area and some protection for your mouth, this stuff will get into the air and you don't want to breath it in.

This should make the model look 100x better, now if you have some time, grab your trusty dry brush, and do the base colors you used over the areas (green, brown, whatever).

Tada, with that you should be able to do those orcs within a weekend.
