The colour mix, for those interested, is roughly

White basecoat
-50% water coat of enchanted (or one of the middle blues)
-50% water coat of Midnight blue (i.e the darkest)
-60% water dark angels green
-Highlights on the armour of the light blue with 25% skull white
-further highlight of 50% blue/skull white
-wash of 70/30 black/blue with 75% water

this should get you the basic colour

I'll present some mini's soon.... in the meantime, i have also learnt that forgeworld intends to produce a new titan for the craftworld eldar...



The rules are unclear, but i understand a rule called 'throwing a wobbler' is to appear.

ok, i have some eldar update. first i've started painting my raider...



I'm also going to spend a large part of tomorrow designing a jetfighter for the DE based off the codex artwork shown below. it's pretty vague.

Hehe, nah, its the mock up for it. i'm building onto of the eldar fighter of a similar design, FW has a flat bottom side photo so i've scaled that to an a4 piece of paper to avoid making the thing too large, i wanted something easy to pack and unpack.

I've ordered plasticard and stuff, i just won't have much time for a few days

my titan is nearly done, theres some pieces to be done but nothing worth posting.
the guard are obvious traitors, and the tank is a brand new low profile tank, hoping to design 3-4 tanks overall.The design is called the TR-743, known by its title the 'Creeper' tank, designed to hide as much of itself, height wise, from view as possible during ambushes. it's the first of three new chaos tanks i plan to design, i also plan the TX-834 transport tank and the TR-548 which is a highly guarded secret design. I'm also going to be producing a more mainstream battle tank in the near future. I'm hoping i can cast these and sell them at a later date to chaos fans, or anyone who doesn't mind a little conversion work to avoid the boring leman russ.

Ok, update time. I've got two photo's of the wip, ones a black and white, ones a artwork comparison




Some footnotes on this design, the wings need to be made larger and into a more fitting design to go with the artwork, though i'm not fussed at this stage because the chassis is the biggest design challange, namely the fuselage and the rear section. those engines are pen lids, however i'm waiting on my order of plasticard to progress further with them. i am quite happy with the curve on the section though, so once i get the aforementioned order i will be going over it and covering those airports to some degree (to fit with the eldar way of doing those things).

ok, update with regard the the jet. i've not done alot, still waiting on my plasticard, however here is what i've manage to cobble together




its still very very rough, but i am starting to like the curve in the engine section that i'm developing atm. However the card is only a temporary solution, it won't be the final rib sections.

Two things. Since context is offically wussing out this thread will get a title change at the weekend. In the meantime, i've completed the basic mock ups for the upper section of the fighter (pre-weapons, nosecone and fins that arn't pricksticked down)







i will repeat, the card hull will be covered with well cut and shaped plasticard, this is just to give people a sense of the shape. i will explain some issues before they arise

thicker lower section; the craftworld design has engines build into the side of the cockpit, making it a giant winged rocket in effect. i fancied something that had a slight aerodynamic feel (in a gw style of 'aerodynamics.... make stuff look like a knife?).

there are no cut out sections yet to give it that DE feel, nor are there the spikes. the forward nose cone will be done in plasticard last, as it had to fit over the ribbing and still be capable of hosting the twin linked cannons. the lances will either go on the under section or possibly on the wings, though that is an issue for later on.

there are several design things i am proud of for my first none square design, paticularly the rear section near the engines and the under side air ports.
The pilot is blue-tacted in. a real one will be made.

i have important news..... last night i spilt water on my laptop. this has more or less screwed it. so, i am about to try and get it repaired, though the estimate is £300-700. I have £1000 to last me the rest of the year (8+ months) that isn't tied into paying rent or bills (i.e food money) and thusly this will leave me utterly without a paddle, especially given i don't have insurance because.... i can't afford it. As such i have decided its time for....
