Hmmm, that joke works better spoken than in text, doesn't it?
“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

Inception is stunning and is what the matrix 2 and 3 should have been, but needs repeated viewing to appreciate it all. Predators, awesome for the first 50%, thought they were actually going to pull off a good sequal, then became terrible for the second half and really let me down. The Thing, well, it's The Thing, it needs no explanation
Hmm, I have to disagree with you on Inception. The 1st part was great, put the 2nd half was much to action packed and gung-ho.
I also re-watched Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, and found the two scenes that are the saving grace of the movies...Spoiler Alert!
Spoiler:
The scene where Amelia Earhart said that she knew that, if she turned back, to see the sunrise, the minute the sun hit her, she would cease to exist. That one was a bit sappy, but still very well acted, and the when she gave the final thumbs up, the expression on her face really did a lot for the scene. Like all sappy things, the scene makes you kinda sad. Also, the very last scene when Larry meets Tess with Coldplay's "Life in Technicolor" playing in the background was VERY well done, perfect music choice. Too bad the rest of the movie couldn't have been as moving.
After a second watch, I give it 4 stars . I would normally have given it 2 stars, but the two scenes I mentioned, plus some other ones, made me give an 2 extra stars.
The last three movies I have watched were "The Frisco Kid", "Bridge Over the River Kwai" & "How to Train Your Dragon". All three are very good with the middle one obviously being a classic.
For those of you who have not seen it I highly recommend the first movie as I believe along with "Young Frankenstein" it might be Gene Wilder's best work.
I enjoyed the third movie althiough it was not as good as recent animated films such as "Up" and "Toy Story 3". My only complaint with the film was to wonder why the Vikings were all apparently Scottish, but that aside it was pretty good.

Just saw Machette today, RED last week.
I generally end up watching movies pretty regularly, but it mostly depends on if anything good is on at the time.
Also watched Despicable Me. Pretty funny.
Legion. terrible.
The Other guys. funny.
Pandorum. Not bad. But the shaky fight cam style was offputting. im getting really sick of that in movies. I actually thought a guy was running towards the baddies instead of away from them at one point.
