Inheritance Cycle (Need fourth book now! Don't make me do what I had to to surpress my wanting for Brisingr and read all the current books cover to cover back to back in a loop until the next one!)
Harry Potter Series (Up to and including the Order of the Phoenix was great; after that it got a bit contrived and felt rushed to me.)
Artemis Fowl Series (Namely 1-3, after that it was a bit 'meh')
Alex Rider Series (Ark Angel was a bit strange, but apart from that it's been a good series.)

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Excerpt from "Seeress of Kell", Book Five of The Malloreon series by David Eddings.

I really think that this is the most brilliant book written for quite some time.

+1

Awesome book

Really? I just couldn't get into it at all. Stalled before even being a third of the way through. Maybe I should try it again. What made you enjoy it so much?

I honestly liked everything about it. I liked the characters, the obscure mythological figures that I got a huge kick out of researching after the fact, the twists and turns and the way that Neil Gaiman made a book about deities somehow very nihilistic. YMMV, but I thought it was an absolute work of genius. I'd advise you to try it again.

I might have liked it because I've had some experiences that made me identify with the main protagonist so it resonated more with me... Whatever the case is, I loved that book. I've read it quite a few times!
