An Ultramarine whining? Someone check his geneseed and purge!

Sounds more like a spurned Slaaneshi Noise Marine to me .

I wrote up an apothecary so they do not die and my friend who writes up caster types and finds loopholes to the rules would sorta be kept maintainable. However he is a Black Templar, and I sorta caught him with his pants down and let him start the heretical purging if you will.

I think i need to give him a "power ruler" so when the PC's get caught with their hands in the cookie jar, they feel a bit of pain.

Okay... New acquisition for my Deathwatch Team... a la Stormraven. Yes its the one that GW is putting out. I am withholding judgement of it until I assemble and paint the thing... details (hopefully) to follow.

IMHO it may be better for missions then letting them have 'Thunder's Word' babysit them all the time, that and I have the feeling I may need to kill my party and have the PC's start from scratch. The whole I need a weapon for every situation thing is really starting to bother me.

True. Remember that the Thunder's Word has a patrol route, and doesn't have to remain on station to support the team, only to drop/retrieve them. If your players are having 'the right tool for the right job'-syndrom hit them where it hurts, their renown. Marines are a martial organization, priding itself on skill and cunning. If a team is relying too much on their tools and not their own skills, then give them less renown. Force is a means to an end, not the solution to every situation. Also keep in mind that they have to be of the appropriate renown level to gain access to equipment, and that the armories are not stocked with infinite supplies of ammo and equipment. If the party continues to drain the coffers, as it were, warn them that they are risking other operations in the Reach, or that their methods are being questioned by the Inquisition. There's a number of ways of dealing with it if it gets out of hand.

I have two creative PC's and one that is not, is sorta one dimensional, and whines that the game is unbalance because there are more blood angels than anything, and they are PC's not NPC's so he wants to "re-organise" everything. I might as well take away all of the nice little "DM wants to see the game progress" features and turn them all off. I will be zeroing their renown because of the party change, since as far as I am concerned their renown is based on the kill-team, not the individual. The PC using the librarian is really creative, and my techmarine is literally like MacGyver, if I let him have a rulebook and a random item from said rulebook he can wreak havok with it if he knows exactly how it works. I only give experience AFTER they complete a mission, because they cannot logically train new skills in the field, so I take some heat for that. My next course of action is to show my "problem child" is to make him wait an extended period of time for replacement of new NPC's, because he has a problem with NPC's that take a part in the story.

Easy solution. Don't include the NPC's in the party. Make them rely upon each other. If it continues to be a problem ask why. It would help you to know what the problem is, presuming its legitmate and not some form of player monty-haulism/munchkinism/et al.

It is the player, I managed to talk to one of my other gentlemen in my squad, who happens to be the DM for our Vampire/D&D games and he is sick of the given player as well -- the player does not seem to realise that the game is supposed to be fun for more than just one player. On another note, I think me and my buddy are going to both just stop playing for a while so I can help my buddy finally finish Borderlands, so we have a while to think about how to address this to the player, playing more is not going to help. And I do know why, it is entirely the player, because he will whine about slightly eccentric NPC's or even PC's, pretty much, the game is supposed to revolve around one player (him), and others are not allowed to have any fun writing up the story for a character. So from what I am understanding the campaign will end, because players are willing to quit because of this, which will give me time to write something really cool for another group.

So, you made any progress on the Stormraven?

Ok... I had one of those in the group I run with. Sounds like a showboater... Word of advice, write your game for the group. Explain to him/her/it that this is unacceptable behaviour and though you enjoy his company it needs to change. He will either change or leave the game. Either case its will solve the rpoblem. Don't let one turd ruin your fun. Believe you me on this one.

As for the Stormraven. no progress as of yet. Why? Couple of reasons. I am finishing painting up the Squad Techmarine, an Imperial Fist, and have been devoting myself to the idea of magnetizing a Land Raider, and the Storm Raven itself. The Land Raider will be utilized to for two purposes: As an Inquisitorial Land Raider for my Sisters Army, and for the Deathwatch game itself. A Rhino may get included in the future but this is back burner stuff atm. I purchased two Stormraven kits. One will be dedicated for use in the Deathwatch RPG, and may see some use with my Inquisitor Army at the Apocalypse level, while the other will likely be used for a possible Grey Knight Army now that the new codex is coming out.

For those of you that have been following this thread I have several 40k Armies that I won, in stages of work:
The Revenant Legion Space Marines
the 451st Cadian Assault Group
Craftworld Sword Dragons
The Sisters of the Ebon Eagle
A Black legion/Thousand Sons army build
and a Dark Eldar Cabal I am putting together.

Other projects include the Fortress of Arrogance, and a few other odds and ends... and just so everyone doesn't think I have been slacking here is a Salamander Tactical Marine and the WIP of the Squad Techmarine.

Not really an update... more of a commentary. Is it possible to give vehicles in 40K a history? Much like power armor? If thats the case, then the Stormraven I am building for my Deathwatch game has the history: "What goes up must come down."

That would be a machine spirit oddity, much like the ones the ships have in RT.

Sort of an update... taking a break from the Deathwatch Figs to paint some of my Eldar, and get interested in painting them again. As soon as I have some finished models, I'll post them.

Not sure. Lost track a while ago.

Those Deathwatch models are amazing looking. Makes me want to convert my remaining Space Marines to Deathwatch.

Subscribed, waiting for an update, and monitoring the progress of the Alien Hunters (we in the Inquisition have eyes everywhere as you well know).

All hail Lord Slug! All hail Lord Slug! All hail Lord Slug!

Anyone have a good recommendation on securing the servo-arms to a techmarines power pack? Preferably something other than glue, or a combination there-of? I had an accident when attempting to dip the model that has hosed me sideways.

Appreciate the input!

A pin vice and some copper wire usually does the trick. I always pin my larger models together as it makes them far more durable.

Great work on the marines btw!
