A gang of backfield scouts is a solid, cheap way of holding an objective. Equipping them for cc? I wouldn't. Ideally, one's objective holders should be able to contribute in the ideal usage of one's army, not holding out on the off-chance your opponent manages to mangle your main strategy. If the main point of your army is assault, however, small scout squads are the most efficient way to hold objectives in your own backfield.

Of course, you already know my feelings about the relative efficiency of the quad-missile dev squad as compared to the autolas pred.
