What do you mean by that?
I'm speaking more towards console gamers than computers...
In general, games deteriorate to lone wolf actions even when with friends. There are few games that rely on Teams to work together to survive. Most games promote it, but few games can truly execute it with precision. Whether or not this will actually pan out the way I hope, is debateable, but from the way the game looks, it seems to have some focus on Team-based actions.
To the poster who said TF2, yes, but the Xbox community for Orange Box is not how it is on a computer. People seem to maintain the Call of Duty/Halo attitude of Lone-Wolfing even here, where team work is of the essence.
Hopefully, with Brink, a team that cooperates will be a necessity. I like games where one class can compensate for the other.
Rather than saying "Team based combat for once..." I should've said: "Here's hope to Team-Based combat"

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

I just hope they release it when it will not fall under the radar of other franchises (CoD, DO:A, ME, Elder Scrolls for example) as Enslaved is meant to be a really really good game same as Vanquish but fell on its arse due to be being released at the wrong time, needs a late Q2 release possibly?? to ensure maximum success as bugger all gets released around that time. Brink is scheduled for a Spring release, which gives it some room to breathe. All of the heavy hitters from established franchises aren't scheduled until Q2 at the very earliest. Hopefully Splash Damage/Bethesda gets it together and does more to market the game, as so far, it has managed to fly under the radar completely (even having an initial 2010 release). If I didn't have such a blind love for everything Bethesda-related, I would know literally nothing about it. Though it may not end up being the most balanced game ever, I'm sure it will catch on with anyone who's into first-person shooters whatsoever. I'm predicting that Brink will be the big sleeper hit of 2011. Footsloggin wrote: And thank you, Brink looks like it hit #1 on my 2011 buy lists, I probably woul've never found that. My greatest thanks to you Chrysaor! Team based combat for once... Absolutely. To anyone questioning whether or not Brink is the first 'true' team-based shooter, you have to keep in mind that up until this point, team coordination has been abysmal at best, as it relies entirely on players to create their own agenda (which can cause more than a few problems, as there is no incentive to actually do anything just because some asshat decides to tell you to). Brink's cooperative aspects are built into the game itself, and it offers full incentive to complete tasks for your team by offering a lot of XP for important objectives and integral aspects of cooperative play (such as healing people or supplying ammo). Also, it takes literally any objective you decide to complete (even if you decide to go off on your own) and makes it so your entire team benefits from it. Simply going Rambo on the opposing team is the least effective way to gain experience, as Splash Damage realizes that you don't really need incentive to get kills; that's fun enough in itself. Games like Team Fortress 2 or Call of Duty can't hold a candle to this sort of system. If you want a real team-based experience, Brink will be your go-to game.

Meaning that people will actually chose to be the medic or Operative instead of the Soldier when they're with a team. Rather than just chosing the soldier because he's the "Uber leet haxor killwin". Sure, the soldier will be an essential part of the team, but the other classes can support one another and him, as well as him supporting and relying on him. Rather than everyone being a lone-wolf...

Also, Brink offers you XP for switching to a needed class (as you can do so on the fly), either for completing a specific objective (Soldiers are generally needed to destroy things, for example), or because your team is in desperate need of some balance.
The mission wheel is the epitome of great game design.

But, really, the most anticipated game I've got is probably something I haven't even heard of, along the lines of Borderlands when it came out. Just comes out of nowhere and rocks your face
What was that game that looked a bit like a cross between Borderlands and Fallout 3? The one after an asteroid hits the earth or something? It's name started with an R i think...

Yah, I loved the first three games. But I wont to know how the tale of Gordon Freeman ends...
Um.. three?
Half-Life (including expansions Opposing Force, Blue Shift and Decay)
Half-Life 2 (including expansions Episode One, Episode Two and Lost Coast)
There are two games. Unless you count Portal.
I count the episodes as seperate games, and wasnt counting the original, as it was its own series as well. So the source engine Half life's are three games.
