Sort of felt that there ought to be a continuation to Gunthers story instead of just leaving him to the obvious fate of dying either by the necrons or the bombardment

Dead Men Walking is the unhappiest piece of Warhammer fiction ever published. In a universe defined by genocide, shallow wars and cynicism that's saying a lot. I'd say Dead Men Walking should only be read by readers who have stable relationships and no history of depression. Anyone else might as well just watch a documentary on suicide, because it'll have the same effect on you. It was a big bubbling cauldron of sadness, with no moral.
I know it's been mentioned but the Kreigans were demoted to extras. I understand Kreigans are supposed to be dehumanized but Steve took the idea and perverted it to its greatest logical extreme.

I likes this book, alot. I really enjoyed the Death korps and their ultra grim-dark-ness. The one thing i didnt like to begin with but soon got used to was the way the commisar acted. I always envisioned them to be almost exactly like the Death korps, very inhuman in their thinking but i guess that would make à very Boring character. Overall i would definately recommend it to people who this sort of scifi. Didnt really do anything for the necron lover within me though.

As much as I love Warhammer 40000 and all of it's awesomeness and grim darkness - I must here say Clone Commandos would won the day.
