Of course, RAW they don't tell you what size the heavy weapons team base is, so technically I guess you could try to pass off only a single model (the one with the heavy weapon) as 'the team'...but again that does go against every example given in the codex so I wouldn't be surprised to see opponents and/or tournament organizers refuse to play you/refuse to allow it respectively.

Nope, I've never had a problem with it using my old RT-era IG Heavy Weapon "gunner" as the single 2-wound model.

LoL, Wut?

I use a single HW model (the old shoulder mounted heavy weapons) on a regular infantry sized base as the 2-wound heavy weapon 'team'. It's mounted on the base it came with.

Ah sorry. Was refering to the quotes... the names were off on my screen and it looked really funny.

And I would have no problem with this.

I would not be happy to see it in a tournament game, but would keep my mouth shut and deal.

i'd probably ask the person to just cut out a 60mm-ish circle out of paper and put it under or at least use two models if they had spares handy. using just the two 25mm bases is acceptable IMO and i wouldnt care there but using a single trooper is a step too far from the current style and rules. if the opponent made a big stink about it still being legal and was getting all huffy, i'd just let it go and bring it up as a "next time, could you.." issue for the tourny organizer.

Yeah, I dont have a problem with putting them on 60mm bases if necessary. I have a lot of spare ones from buying bases packs. Nor do I think they hinder my game too much since I only put a heavy weapon in each infantry squad, my only problem is it just looks... unnatural for lack of a better term. you got a nice orderly, regiment of troops aligned in rank and file and then oh, guess what? a big blob of empty space... yuck.

but thanks for clearing that up still.
