with a little finesse, you can easily create the impression that the orks paint their skin whatever color you want. Personally, I think white orks (like the white-painted uruk-hai) would look cool.

Not orks per se, but at one point I was planning a smurffy night goblin army that was gonna have white robes and blue skin.

Honestly I think Ork's in anything other then green are silly, or dumb even (no offense).

I just make every Ork have different type of green, from the darkest possible green to almost yellow, or even brownish. I haven't done a single ork skin tone the same yet. Layer it on differently, with different paints etc. For me this way they all look more unique without coming off... weird...

While generally I stick to green I painted these a while ago. I've got a unit of 12 purple Boyz too. They do need tidying/finishing though.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

+1 to that I have seen purple orks covered in flowers. Brown orks look good as well.

How about this for an alternative?
Since they are part fungi, make a race of Orks who are CLOSER to the fungi, with more of their traits.
Like this!

I dare you.
Would be epic.

Well most fungi are white-yellow-brown. And brown Orks look ok.
