Read up i think you would like them from how your race is described.

Oh, I do seem to like the Eldar story (although when I play with them, It just doesn't feel right, I like my troops to be versatile if you know what I mean, and for Eldar, each Unit has a role to fulfill, and they cannot do anything else).

So, do you have anything to add, a nice critique for the Virions?

They are very inspiring race, I hope GW take them as next generation races to be add in 40k. And one more thing: Alexander is CiC of Overseer army - not an admiral.

Each Virion Clan has different colors, so here are the colors of the 9 important Clans:



Virion Combat Clanguards from left to right:
Upper: Hom'Jek / Gaan'Lak / Drag'Oek
Middle: Jai'Mark / Shu'Naiek / Lak'Riel
Lower: Boask'Xees / Vourk'Dwa / Fau'Wyk

I've asked people and it seems that the most popular Clans are (by order) Boask'Xees, Fau'Wyk & Gaan'Lak.

So I've also tried searching for minis I could use for Virions, and this is how it turned out:

I have found on Khurasan Miniatures 'Space Demon Hive' & 'Aliens of the Pelagic Dominate'. The Space Demons are basically a copy of the Xenomorphs (Aliens), so I could use their heads as Virions & then attach them to Rubric Marine bodies (still trying to figure what t use for legs, the XV25 Stealthsuits are the first thing to come to mind, but I'd gladly find something with claws instead of hooves). And I could use the Vehicles of the Pelagic Aliens as Virion Centruroids.




A perfect Hellfire Centruroid.


A almost perfect Corrupter Centruroid.


A perfect Penetrator Centruroid.


The first turret choice would make it an ideal Engineer Centruroid, the second would make it an ideal Gun Centruroid, while if I added the Hellfire Centruroid weapon to this tank, I'd get a great Missile Centruroid, and thus without a turret the Hellfire Centruroid would make an ideal Thumper Centruroid.

OK, update, how the Virions conquer planets:

A single Mothership contains countless thousands of Clanships. Many of these are sent into deep space to search for a planet. When they do find a plane that can sustain life (or be of any use to the Virion Empire, like for example contain a lot of raw mineral resources) the Virion Clanship orbits in space for a while & sends Droid Probes to scout the entire planet- After several weeks or maybe months of scouting, the Droids report back to the Clanship. Then the Clanship lands & forms a base, and then:
1. If there is no Intelligent life, they simply keep the planet safe until the Virion colonists come to claim the planet for the Virion Empire.
2. If there is Intelligent life, but it is not so advanced (like if it was in it's stone or medieval age) the Virions simply kill them all.
3. If there are advanced lifeforms on the planet, the Virions will make contact the only way the Virions know how, through war.

The Virions will try to wage war to dominate that planet no matter what. Each Clanship can contain about 200-500 Clanguards (depending on it's size) so a single Clanship could lead an entire War on it's own, however, if the Virions seem to be loosing, they will call for reinforcements, more Clanships will arrive, bringing more Virions, until the Mothership itself arrives. The Mothership is armed with a Ultimatum Armada Cannon, which can when fully charged destroy an entire planet. When a Mothership uses the Ultimatum Armada Cannon, it will puff tons of poisonous gas into the atmosphere, which would spread quickly through the entire planet, to which the Virions had evolved an immunity. After the smoke is cleared, the Mothership will slowly land upon the planet & so millions of Clanguards will go to war, destroying all in it's path. Such an army could withstand a fully fledged Ork WAAAGH! or a Tyranid Invasion. Quickly afterwords, all on the planet would get sick from the gas, and soon would come several years of winter, and so all animal & plantlike lifeforms would die out and the enemy would run low on food, while the Virions would receive daily shipments of food via Clanships. Sooner or later, the entire planet will fall to the Virion Empire. However, if an Invaison somehow fails, the Virion Clanships will try to protect the Mothership at any cost, until it escapes through the Warp.

The only reason why the Virions do not go to conquer the Galaxy is because they are afraid that their Empire will become exposed to attacks of not just Xenos, but Renegade Virion Clans as well.


An Armada Class Clanship, this is their basic Clanship & it contains around 150-200 Clanguards.

New HQ unit, Vicarth Centruroid:

Shortly after Vi'Carth was elected Emperor of the Virion Empire, he had grabbed a Hellfire Centruroid, upgraded it's Missile Spewer to Heavy Missile Spewer & added side mounted Infectors. He had then went inside this Vehicle & went to war, to free Kau'Reigh from the Dark Eldar invasion. After many months of war, Kau'Reigh was free & the Virion Empire became stronger then ever. Later on, this Vehicle was named after Emperor Vi'Carth.

These monster vehicles are ones of the most powerful Centruroids in the Virion Empire, reserved for the Virion Lords, who would usually be sitting in the Clanship, giving away orders to his Clanguards. A Virion Lord may be highly valuable, but he is still a warrior, and he is required to do battle when it must.
