Music-I've played bass for over 20 years and also do a bit of six string strumming as well.

Horror-Movies,books,toys,models,...everything about the horror genre interest me...particularly zombies (as if most of Dakka didn't already know that.)

Cooking-It's a tradition in my family for the men to be good cooks,we compete for bragging rights.

Target shooting- Same as above.

Writing--I spend a great deal of time writing short horror stories.

Any battle report I wrote would definitely qualify as a horror story...especially since I've lost my past six games...and two of those losses were to my nine year old son.

@Fitzz: I envy you having a son. My 3 year old daughter is fascinated by my RoB table and dice, but something tells me Barbie and the like will probably seduce her before too long.

One of the other things I'd love to do before I shuffle off this mortal coil is Falconry. I think that would be very cool.

I defiantly consider myself blessed when it comes to my son and am truly enjoying the time that he still thinks his old dad is "The coolest guy on earth",My Daughter (whom I adore),is 11 and well on her way to thinking everything me and her mother does is "embarrassing."

Well...most of it is written down in various notebooks around my house.
However...if you'd care to get a bit of an idea of my writings (although greatly limited) you could check out the zombie RP threads here on Dakka.
I may just go ahead and drop one of my short stories in Dakka fiction though.

I'm into music in a big way but I'm waiting til my mid-life crisis kicks in before i learn guitar.

I read and watch films. A lot of these 'films' and indeed mini series'ssss aren't chosen buy me and are usually set in the distant past and involve some long drawn out love interest or a boy who is in an orphanage. His struggle to find his way in the Victorian (?) times is usually epic to the point of farce. Personally i don't see why Blackadder series 2 isn't a good compromise.

I would probably still be mountainbiking but I have a daughter to burn all my disposable income off after buying plastic toys from GW. Mountainbiking is cheaper than having kids. Just. Racing? Forget it, kids are cheaper to run.

I also collect cars it would seem. I now own 1/3rd of my fiances as she hasn't worked for about 18 months which is a useful bargaining tool. I suppose that would make blackmail a concurrent hobby to car collection.

I go online to forums and blether nonsense when i should be painting.

I like to rant until everyone has left the room and I finally get peace.

Hmm, what if I don't spend money on it and grow my own?

Waste of braincell's? I know what that stuff can do to people, I've had 2 friends in a clinic because they became addicted, and yes, it is an addictive substance, just not physically, mentally is another thing though most people leave that part out.

That said, I smoked the gak for 4 years, and then I became 18, so I could actually just legally buy it at a coffee shop, and I became bored of it (what a suprise there). Then I did shrooms for 2 years I think, same ending.

Now I don't touch anything except an occasional beer etc.

I do work with the stuff though lol, I work for the biggest herbal drug supplier in the country

I'm actually in the behavioral health care sector and spent quite a bit of time working with addicts. Also, I'm a trained addiction counselor. I've never seen someone sell their body for a joint. Just doesn't happen.

Mental/Physical addiction is an outdated term. Anything that has an effect on the mesolymbic pathway is habit forming because it gives you a dopamine surge. Thats everything from smiling to shooting heroin.

Physical dependance is a different bugger altogether. When you cross this line you are no longer "getting high", you are "not getting sick". Withdrawal is obscenely painful and in some cases (Alcohol and benzodiazepines) fatal.

That being said, just picked up 2 more free plants today! My garden is so pretty. Now I need neem oil though. :(

P.S. Legal ftw! Don't break the law kids.

I spend some off time jumping rooftops in the nearby developement... It's easy once you get the hang of it, but you have to do a pull-up every now and then, and the kiddies in the backyard wonder why they see a 5'1" midget dangling from their shingles.

Anyway, it's fun when you don't slip and fall into the bushes.

That and Video Gaming. I'm ok, not great, but I can best the average gamer on a slightly off day. Though I'm pro casual gaming...

Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.
