Must a skimmer's weapons obey the 45 degree vertical firing arc?
Yes, essentially giving valks/vendettas a minimum range on their guns.
No, a skimmer could always angle down an hit the guy in front of it.

Sometimes i scare myself...
.... not that it matters much but doesn't that mean that people can now shoot you (the tail) while being out of your lower LOS?

As Tri said; the lower you dip the nose, the greater a problem you have with people being able to draw LOS to the tail without you necessarily drawing LOS to them in return.

Anyway, if you mount the V on its flying stand correctly, it has the nose dipped a bit as it is.

Hmmm, I'm going to have to do some jommetry on this one, and see what the minimum effective range becomes.

Ulver: Physical models will work best for this and greatly vary the results(Prone/kneeling tau pathfinders would need to be farther away from standing, Daemon princes/most monstous Creatures could be much closer, Termies slightly closer than tac marines, etc)

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Yup indeed got a freshly-assembled Valk, I just need a protractor.

solkan wrote:On a related topic, do people take the statement on page 59, "can swivel vertically roughly by 45 degrees", to mean that it's a 45 degree vertical arc or that it can swivel 45 degrees up and 45 degrees down from the modeled position (90 degree total arc)?

willydstyle wrote:I've read it as a 45 degree total arc, but I can see how the sentence is ambiguous.

From ground vehicles it seems it is 45 degrees elevation from the horizontal, so would skimmers' weapons allow 45 degrees depression from the horizontal?
