Warfish=Devilfish with SMS, Targeting Array, Multi-Tracker, and D-Pod

They have made the difference between losing and tying in a few games for me, so I will never field another Devilfish with JUST a Disruption Pod ever again (and because I glued everything on ).

EDIT: Sorry, I missed the 2nd page and didn't realize The Bringer already posted, my bad!

Yeah, D-pods are one of the best things in the Tau codex either way. Really, 5 points to ignore half the hits against your vehicles? Bring it on. I just played a game where IG couldn't touch my Hammerheads because I made every cover save.

Warfish are nice because you have 7 S5 shots, and the AP is good enough to take out most light infantry... not to mention its decently hard to kill.

Devilfish equipped with SMS instead of Gun Drones, also fit on a multitracker, targetting array and disruption pods!

Or rather, a Devilfish Troop Carrier that:

Replaces its 2 gun drones (equipped with pulse carbines) with a Smart Missile System
Gets the "targeting array" option available to it,
Gets the "disruption pods" option available to it,
And also gets the "multi-tracker" option available to it.

Really, I think we've said this as many ways as it could be said.

An ethereal is great if you use it right.
I thinks he means a devilfish.
I have some experience with tau maybee we could talk about it when we see each other in de Spelfanaat.

I'm a Space Marine (Ultramarine) ,Imperial guard ,Tyranid and Ordo Xenos Player for 40k and I play also Warhammer and Lotr but not much.

Apart from this thread being about a month old...

The etherial is complete crap, if your opponent does anything right.

I don't care if he's with fire warriors in a d-fish (which is as safe as he'll ever be), I'll focus all my fire-power to blow apart the d-fish right away and slaughter the fire warriors, with the etherial. Then 1/4-1/3 of your army runs away!

Even if a Tau player "uses him right" (which is pretty much keeping him alive as long as possible) the etherial is still a waste of points.

I run them in my 1250 and 1500 point lists and they haven't let me down. They can prove EXTREMELY valuable and offer some really good supporting fire for the rest of your army.
