The next thing to happen in response to that was the appearance of both a Kroot unit on the far left flank and the deep-strike landing from above of the Tau Commander in his battle suit! The Broadsides fired again and missed! the other three fired and cripple the chimera on the far right, forcing the veterans out to go to the objective with-out the protection of their vehicle, but the hill it was on and used the wreck to good effect as well. The Hellhound swung around and flamed the Kroot and the Hydra and command chimera fired on them as well, wiping them out to the bird! The Tau commander fire at the Chimera and wrecked it, but wound up attacked by the angry veterans from inside it. Vasily's vehicle gunned forwards and covered itself with smoke.

The Tau firewarriors on the right flank moved and fired at the vets at the hill, cover saving them from the few desultory shots.
More Kroot appeared and they charged the command tank beating upon it and making it immobile. The 2 broadisdes destroyed the Hellhound that had exposed it's rear armor when it went to burn the kroot from the first gaggle. The Tau Commander had bested the veterans, only to be assaulted by the commander and his squad. The three broadsides could not harm Vasily's vehicle as they charge to seize another objective and the smoke did it's job.

cool, soke markers? thats something handy right there... so this story will be an epic three parter...well now some very action rich middle part...

lol...are kroots bird related? never read about their fluff but considering their beaks very fitting and insulting in one tight package^^...

Things were getting tense, another gaggle of Kroot attacked, without the Hellhound, they would be less easy to eliminate from the field, the The Broadsides fired again after the Kroot arrived, not harming anything at all for both squads! and the Commander was moving away from the action there, but not fast enough. Firewarriors climbed through the huge columned ruin, they fired again at the vets on the right flank. They would be also fired upon by the SMS of the Devilfish The Kroot had immobilized the command tank and the Major decided enough was enough, the Chimera would have to fire on the bird-like aliens. The Major and his team headed righ at the wounded Tau officer, the sgt of the veteran having wounded him before his defeat. The Hydra attempted to kill the wounded Broadside team on the flank but their armor held firm! Close combat with the Tau commander resulted in the defeat of that alien and the the loss of the vox man and the sniper.

Meanwhile, the Broadsides in the middle actually missed the Chimera with Vasily, as the tank lumbered and they fired, killing one outright with their meltas.

The firewarriors came alongside the chimera, and crippled it, the devilfish closed on the right flank vets, and killed some more, but they held firm! The Broadsides got to shake the Hydra, and the Kroot got to shake the command tank! The major was at the left flank objective, and the Vasily and the team, despatched the Broadsides

The fight had been bloody, and the 801st fought an uphill battle, but did get the moral victory of killing the largest Broadside team, 18kroot, and the Tau Commander. Breaking down to the final arbitration of "victory points" the Tau had destroyed a solid 190 pts of the IG and won the day, but it had been close, all the primary objectives and secondary objectives were not met by any of the units and so it was down to how much stuff had cost.

the broadsides seem to be a major painin the rear to me...

Yeah S10, 72"reach, AP1 and twinlinked to boot! add in markerlights making them even better at hitting and you get the idea.

so how do you keep on documenting all that data of the game...one thing is constantly making pics...is this anoying to you and your oponent? or are they doing the same thing?

is a game stressfull? never played a real gamne before so i would be pretty smashed in between turns...

More friendly games have less pressure, tournaments everyone likes to come with "I crush you" lists.

Nobody was concerned as I snapped the pics quick, I forgot some but the pics do help jog my memory which does work well with imagery.

None of my sisters would ever be interested in the hobby, I was considered odd by them.
