Going toward Hybrid, I've added Catachans to my mainly Cadian list. Cadians are the Mech side, Catachans are the blob side. Obviously it would just be Catachans that get the grenades, since they're the assaulty sort (according to my army).

Poor Cadians shouldn't have been playing with knives in the first place. They're so used to being in tanks with weapons that they forgot to bring the Krak.

Look at your comment. Back to mine. Back to yours NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine. But if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate crap it could LOOK like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through comments, finding the ones that your comment could look like. Back at mine, what is it? It's a highly effective counter-troll. Look again, MY COMMENT IS NOW DIAMONDS.

Anything is possible when you think before you comment or post.

I-bounty-hunt-the-elderly wrote:@schadenfreude - I have heard the idea of one batch of krak grenades in a combined squad before. I can see the merits, especially as you keep the grenades as the first men get picked off. The problem that prevents me trying this (and I'm sure many would share my point of view) is how much of a pain keeping track of this on the table would be. You'd need to put visible krak grenades on 10 of the models, making sure to take the right ones off according to wound allocation. Doing wound allocation at all would become a notch more complicated. And like a lot of players, I have a sort of urge toward uniformity. If it's a squad I plan to combine, I like to have each squad equipped the same, it seems a little odd that one of them is upgraded.

I've found the easiest way to do this is to put a ring of color around each squad's base and just go off that. Wound allocation goes to blue and red squad before the yellows, and such.

I've also had great effect using grenade launchers combined with meltabombs in blobs. Toss three frags into a group before assaulting to add wounds. Use kraks to open up transports, assault if necessary.

:-) I probably spent way too much time with the American military where "extra equipment is no problem"... Points permitting I'd use the krak and melta/priest, but that's just me... That being said, I do see (and field) some things like AV 13 DN's that wouldn't be overly affected by the krak... But having the option in your GTH plan and being able to say, surround that annoying Rhino/fast vehicle that is there taking or contesting an objective on the final turn might come in handy... Another thing I'd point out would be that with bigger blob squads, you might open it up to multi assault and at least take the rolls against more than your primary target... Give some of the regular lads something to do other than "wait for the next casualty", and in KP games, every kill point matters, at least when I field the Praetorians...
