mattyrm wrote:Now i think about it... I think your right there MGS, if I see a big jewelry store getting robbed, Id probably just think "feth em"

I mean, there are some crimes that we find abhorent, and some we dont. And scruffers nicking off big companies doesnt really revile me as much as burgalry or rape or what have you. I mean, i hate burglars, but would i shop a teenager i saw lifting a CD from HMV? .. probably not.

But if i saw the guys about to smash an old womans head in, then I most defintately would have to butt in, so perhaps we are both right. Pride is a whip for me, it always has been. Its stupid as well, but I cant help it. But at the same time, I think the woman spurred the men into action, possibly because most of us are less concerned about theft than we are about women getting chinned.

Either way, hats off to the old woman as I said.. but it could so easily have turned into a big mess.

The thing is, if you took advantage of the robbers being in motorcycle helmets to sneak up on their blind side and disable them with a surprise attack, you would probably find yourself charged with assault.

I don't think people think rationally in this kind of situation . If you look at the second video, featuring the shopkeeper, he was up against two guys with a pistol and a knife, and he was no spring chicken himself. He said afterwards that he had worked all his life to set up his shop and he wasn't going to let some chavscum take it away without a fight. Well, where's his business if he gets himself shot? He wasn't thinking rationally.

The granny probably has a similar onset of berserk rage, not around the fact of a jewel robbery but more around the idea that chavscum dared to come into her high street and upset the public peace. She just flipped out and went to have a word with them.

When that happens, people can achieve great things, as we saw from that military rampage thread a few days ago.

Well, our contempt of this issue in America is greater than that of any British person in Britian!!

Well it was Albatross, from Britain, who took deadalus's comment as a negative remark about his country. Not the other way around.

In fact I just looked at Albatross' recent posts and it seems like all he ever does is bang on about Britain this and Britain that.

Here's an idea, how about you climb off my balls? You know feth all about how I took daedalus's comments.

Wait... That's someone else I know.

Anyway, what I posted was clearly meant as a bit of light hearted joshing. A person would have to be a total moron/internet crank not to realise THAT.

The Rolling Stones did a song about it.

I live on an apartment
An the ninety-ninth floor of my block
And I sit at home lookin' out the window
Imaginin' the world has stopped

Then in flies a guy
Who's all dressed up just like the Union Jack
And says, “I've won five pounds
“If I have his kind of detergent pack”

I said, "Hey, you, get off of my balls
“Hey, you, get off of my balls
“Hey, you, get off of my balls
“Don't hang around 'cause two's a crowd
“On my balls baby"

No where near as many as The Stones or Zeppelin I'll grant you,but the "Classics" they have produced are great.

I was thinking three or four but then I looked up their discography. It's quite surprising really.

My Generation
Won't Get Fooled Again
Baba O'Reilly
Substitute
I Can See For Miles
Pictures of Lily
I'm A Boy
Who Are You
You Better You Bet

Probably some more.

OTOH when you compare it with The Stones or The Beatles it's not much.

I'm currently listening to the gayest playlist I've ever made. My capacity for liking music that has little actual musical value is rival to my ability to intake spicy food Fortunately that goes the opposite direction for music that's technically awesome too.

'You Better You Bet'!?! Mate, that's a terrible tune!

But yeah, they do have a handful of really good songs. Even the Stones don't have anywhere near the number of great songs that The Beatles have, mind. Their 'Best Of' is like, 4 CDs - and even that's not comprehensive, IMO.

Also, Pink Jedward.

All the best ones got sent to America or Australia, and we only have chavscum left. We have to rely on European imports now.

I bought The Beatles Collection (16 discs or something) last year. There isn't a Beatles album that doesn't have a minimum of three or four absolute classics on it. Admittedly they did a lot of covers in the early days.

Ill be honest, I never really cared for the Beatles. They have some good songs, that Ill agree too, but mostly they seem a bit over rated to me

You know what? I feel the same about the Stones - they have a few songs that I totally love, but that's about it.

'Gimme Shelter' is fething boss, though.
