Thanks sparkywtf, I am really happy with the way the Punisher cannons turned out, glad to find use for an old GI Joe vehicle. I haven`t used them yet in a game, but I had one deepstrike in next to me once and did some real damage before I blew it up!
I am also not a huge fan of the forgeworld cannons myself, I was happy to do it on the cheap. After I saw the White Dwarf with the snipers replacing the HB, I knew I had to try it out, and again happy with the results. I have used this one in a game, it did well with BS 5 and the champion shots blowing up transports and tanks on rear armour. Automatically Appended Next Post: Hey, second page, alright! This is coming along after all!

I have finished the storm trooper models with berets from an earlier post, they are done up as the Canadian Parachute Brigade from the Second World War, right down to the gold on the epaulette and the best 28mm scale version I could do of the Pegasus on the left shoulder.
I also managed to do a Chimera and a Hydra this week, with two more Chimeras lined up next in my IG army.

So this really happened last week at our gaming club, my partner rolled some dice and one of them actually stayed on its side for a few minutes! We had to take a picture so here it is:

After painting up some vehicles, I took a break and painted some infantry models in the last few days, as well as a project to build another Hydra. The only issue with the Hydra is that I don't have 4 of the same barrel, so it will be double barreled instead of a quad-cannon. It is still mounted on a Chimera chassis, with some Aegis defence line bits added in.

Some more infantry work today. I bought a set of Empire Flagellants for use as my Psyker Battle Squad, as I really do not like the metal ones from GW, and they only come in a pack of 3. They conversion work was pretty straight forward, I added some Elysian forgeworld bits for the shoulder armour and canteens, and converted lasguns into las-pistols to match their war gear. For their Overseer, I gave him a cut-down version of a Death Corps of Krieg lasgun-made las-pistol, and the Nemesis Warding Stave from my Grey Knights Paladins, as well as a Cadian helmet.
Being a tanker, I could not resist the temptation of having tanks that can move fast AND shoot (novel bloody concept, firepower, mobility and protection), so I bought the Blood Angels codex in case I want to run my favoured Ultramarines in a BA style list, and accordingly purchased some Baal Predators, Sanguinary Guard, and Death Company. I also bought my first finecast models in the form of Dante and Astorath the Grim since the models themselves are so awesome. There were no problems with the models yet but I will be keeping them out of the sun...
The Sanguinary Guard I will either use as Honour Guard or a Purifier squad with my GK. For the Death Company, I imagine these guys as the marines that have made some kind of mistake and are on some dangerous mission to repent, like Uriel Ventris and Sgt Pasanius, that just happen to be fighting the same enemy as their brothers.
The Death Company model with the Power Fist is easily my favourite of the bunch, like he is about to lay down some serious hurt!

I managed to pick up a really good deal on some second hand Warhammer stuff, I have the 3 Baal Predators I mentioned yesterday, as well as 3 razorbacks, a Land Raider Reedemer/Crusader, Assault Terminators, 3 Sanguinary Priests and 3 Drop Pods. I put everything on the table and it looks impressive enough on its on, and this is just the new stuff I need to paint! I also took a picture of the finecast models, the only problem with them was the axe broke on Astorath the Grim, but the superglue works just fine.
I also managed to finish my Nemesis Dreadknight in my Legio Custodes colour scheme, with some minor conversions for coolness, as well as a teleport beacon on the back since I will very likely be using this upgrade every time I use him. I tried a new technique for the force weapon, I used black base coat, chainmail, drybrushed mithril silver, and then washed it with asurmen blue. It isn't terrible, and it was easy to do. The Tyrannid is a genestealer from the Space Hulk board game, base coat black, thraka green wash, and snot green drybrush/highlight. I cut off his leg from the ankle to the knee to keep the leg the same size as it is being clutched by the Dreadknight. I watched the Alien series the other day so this is a bit of a tip of the hat, and I wanted to give him an Ultramarine battle honour, so the Tyrannid fit the bill.

Four Elysian snipers are complete with washes applied, as well as the Last Chancer sniper model, and an objective I picked up on eBay. Up next is another 10 man infantry squad and 2 heavy weapon teams (autocannons).

Thanks Ghilksy, I bit off a big chunk of IG HWT so no painting updates for a while, but they are almost done, so I will hopefully get some pics up of them soon, they performed pretty well at an Apocalypse game this last weekend.

So after yet another training exercise and getting my painting schedule squared away with the wife and our 4 month old, I have finally managed to finish painting 8 heavy weapon teams with autocannons, and finish my custom Hydra. With a bit of time off now I am hoping to get some vehicles done between hunting.

Thanks, the dice thing actually happened again recently but we didn`t have a camera this time. In the interest of getting lots painted as expeditiously as possible, I decided last night after a few beers that I could paint 7 SM vehicles and 11 turrets and razorback turrets before this weekend when I play my next game. WIP photos would be a little pointless as I actually made good headway last night, just some dry brushing and decals left to do and I will post some more pictures hopefully soon.

So I managed to get everything painted in time for the game last Sunday, with all the last touch ups finished late Saturday night. It was a little different than how I normally paint, but it was pretty satisfying seeing an entire 2000 point army painted on the table (the vehicles anyway). I think I will do the same for some IG vehicles, and then back to troops for a while. I am thinking of running Kasrkin and older Storm Trooper models as Veterans, as I have enough to make 6 squads, maxing out on Troops choices.
I need to work on my dice rolling skills as I rolled these in one go:
I ended up doing a bit more conversion work to get turrets sorted out and ended up not needing all 11 turrets (I used 9 instead).
C & C is welcome as always.

Well after an extended deployment for some training in the US, it is good to be home. I have a few little projects on the go right now, including some Custodes models for my GK allies, Thunderwulf cavalry and a few others for my fledgling Space Wolf force, and even some opponents for my Imperium forces. I also recently acquired an air brush, so I am testing it out a bit on my vehicles, trying to find that sweet spot and finish my IG 2000 point army, which I have organized along Canadian infantry doctrine to include a Company (Coy) HQ, and 4 Platoons (Pl), each Pl with a Pl HQ, and 3 sections of 10 men each. Each section and HQ has a Chimera, with a Melta gun in every squad, and 3 Meltas and a flamer in each HQ squad. This gives me a total of 17 Chimeras and 145 Guardsmen, so I have quite a bit of painting left to do!
Here is some of what I have on the go right now:

So after a long hobby break, I am back with a small update, but it includes both IG and my marines. Now that 6th has dropped, I am more than happy to redo my army lists so I can run my Ultrmar PDF as allies for my marines or vice versa. This will of course include mixing and matching between Ultramarines, Blood Angels, Grey Knights, Space Wolves, and maybe even a Dark Angel army (I like the idea of an all Terminator army).
The next thing I will paint has a flyers base...

So I realized I forgot to put up finished pictures of my Regimental Mascot, these are included in today's update.
I also wanted to show my Stormtalon gunship, complete with customized base. The idea was that a Dreadnought was brewed up, but the Ultramarine hero entombed inside may still be alive, so there is an Imperial Guardsman (dismounted tanker) that has hastily set up a defensive position to protect him until he can be extracted. I am also almost finished my fourth tactical squad, hopefully I will have some pictures of them soon too.
Cheeers!
