I was reading "mercy of the emperor" recently and at one point in the story Roth (inquisitor) punches through a trucks engine block and splits the vehicle clean in half with a power fist. Ok this is fiction. But wouldnt that kind of damage cause his body / bones to take enormous amounts of stress and impact shock?

If I understand it correctly, there wouldn't be an impact, as the power field rips the truck and it's engine to pieces.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Exactly i accept that a SM may be able to handle a powerfist with his genetic makeup and its attached to an amour suit. But a normal human holding it is a little odd. I just dont get how you be able to hold it. I envisage images of bucking chainsaws etc..

I assume, that a power fist for say a regular human is not nearly as big as a space marines. Yet probably educes the same effect as its larger brothers just only smaller. Hence a guardsmen punches a hole in the wall same damage just smaller fist. As for the wielding of it I assume with proper harness, and weight distribution, you could pack it around as if you were carrying heavy luggage say to the airport. However what is more interesting. How bigger would that particular arm be compared to your left?

In the old fluff most big weapons had suspensors to reduce the weight (but not mass). I have always assumed that power fists had suspensors. Some of the old miniatures (IG I think) did have smaller versions of the power fist.

The IG characters have a powerfist in the new DoW game.
It's more like a grey boxing glove than a full SM one.
