Yea i did, i measured how much masking tape i needed and then cut strips. I had to adjust it a few times to make sure the width of each line looked good.

I really dig the oblique wrap-around of the red X. Initially, I thought the black was way too flat, but it seems that you're moving in the right direction. Good stuff!
