Well, if you see a Smeargle coming in, you should be able to switch to a taunter/sweeper quick enough to finish the job before he gets started. A taunted smeargle, especially an Ingrained one, shouldn't have much of a movepool to do much on his own. Just make sure you get him before he can use spore/subsitute, and he's dead. If you can see him coming, he shoudn't be too hard to deal with. The problem is once he actually gets in (but isn't that the same with every pokemon?). Poor guy's got nothing on sleeptalkers.

^Hence why you also need Mr Mime to block Roar.
In any case, a properly played Baton Pass chain can be devastating if you don't break it early .

Been looking through some of the new critters. Virizion is pretty awesome, and Haxorus is beastly. Too bad I've never been any good at pokemon XD.

Wow i never knew pokemon could be so full of complex stratagy and moves...
Also i need to know if i can do anything good with that new electric zebra type pokemon, i already have an electric type on my team so i wondered if it was good enough to repeat a type in my team?

Depends; I do it plenty in the old Raindance team I ran back in D/P/Pl, but each pokemon had a different secondary typing to make up for that (with the exception of Suicune, who was pure water and Electivire, who was pure electric).
What's important is the actual purpose of each pokemon, how that pokemon meshes with the rest of your team, and the counters that pokemon has.

I have the evolved form of the first one you get at level 45 atm, and the moves it currently has are Discharge, Shock Wave, Flame Charge and Stomp (none taught from TM's). It's a pretty solid Pokemon and has good speed, but I will be taking him out when I get Zekron (think that's how it's spelt) anyways.

I'm not a fan of using legendaries in my team, it always seems slightly cheap.
I'm going to be buying Black on the 1st

If you're looking to play multiplayer, I'd ditch him. His stats are mediocre at best, and his movepool isn't noteworthy either. Electric is a great typing, but there are better pokemon out there.
Just stick with Electivire.

If you're just looking to get through the story mode, damn near anything will do. Pokemon's single player game isn't exactly hard.

Just beaten the first member of the Elite 4 and my team range from 45-48 so it's not too hard having a team just below their level.

They must be easier in that game, because in Yellow I tried the E4 with a team around that level and I actually lost a couple of times before I bought like 30 Max Potions and Revives and won.
That's what makes it possible to beat trainers way above your level, items.

Can the older pokemon be xfered into this game at all or just what the games comes with can be used?
Wish they would make a game with every pokemon from the beginning and add in perpetual leagues on islands/gyms to be beaten and evolve etc. That and loads of exploring to do to keep it interesing.
