not really,
the Psykers are all the website creaters that can actually manipulate the internet.
we, the users, are just poor souls with Warp Signitures floating around.
Now a bigger question is, "Is Bill Gates the Emperor?"

Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

I was originally going to put down Wikipedia, but I wanted to keep each god generalized instead of mentioning a specific website. Each god is a type of website, each website is a specific daemon.
Well "wikis" in general would cover both sites and the general kind of site with the behavior you describe

Nor could you switch off the internet. We're as dependent on it as worlds that rely on supplies from warp faring vessels.
Seriously, if people couldn't get to facebook and twitter, there would be mass suicides.
And besides, it's been tried before by hackers. It won't go down.

Well think of it this way. The internet has become a conveyer of knowledge and communication. Each communication is a thought, and because nothing on the internet is deleted, our thoughts collect, leading to engines which feed off these collected thoughts. But this isn't enough, they want more, so they advertisements and request more of your thoughts. Before you know it, you have engines made for specific communications, information and thoughts, creating gods and entities.
The behavior of the internet is the behavior of the warp, fueled by the same thing.

This is what I read:
The SkyNet funding bill is passed
The system goes online on August 4th, 1997.
Human decisions are removed from strategic defense.
SkyNet begins to learn at geometric rate.
It becomes self-aware at 2:14am Eastern time, August 29th
In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
SkyNet fights back.

I never understood the use of geometric rate in those movies. Shouldn't it be exponential? Automatically Appended Next Post: Brother Heinrich wrote:so we're all psykers then? manipulating and using the 'warp' with our 'minds'

Well geometric rate is basically the discrete version of the 2^x function. So it's not quite that wrong... It's perhaps debatable if learning can be measured as a real number or a natural number. In truth, it's debatable if learning is even measurable at all... But that said I think that geometric rate was more known back when the movies came out. The popular (and mostly wrong) knowledge of exponential growth is quite recent. Geometric growth on the other hand is much easier to show and explain.
