How does the second law have any potential to be applied? maybe I'm missing something since I'm obviously a bitter pleb sitting in the shadow of your vast intellect, but not once has a closed system been mentioned. Might I also add that you were the first in this topic to start making assumptions, so don't give me that gak. And the reason I pointed out its science fantasy not science fiction was not to be pedandic, it is because there really is a distinct difference, in one it works and in the other it doesn't. By treating it as science fiction, your asking a question you allready know the answer to, which to me seems like an utter waste of time and also seems to me like you have orchestrated this topic to give you a chance to be a smart arse and show off your knowledge of biology. I think your posts are probably more likely to be considered trolling than anything I have said, becuase if anything I have reacted to bait... your bait... soooo... yeah... excuse me for feeding the troll.

well, mutations are a degeneration of Genetic material.

this degeneration is also why Dolly the Sheep died so early on. her DNA was twice as old as she was and so she began to develop problems.

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

That's big of you to admit it. Thanks for playing.

And just to answer the only worthwhile comment in that wall of text: that there wasn't an obvious answer to my question.
We've ascertained that it might be metamorphosis rather than mutation, and that even if it was, the chaos gods has a hand in some of it, making it not random. Even then, a lot of them end up dead, or disfigured. It's interesting to see how the fluff explains the science, the better the fluff, the better the explanation.

I think that's more to do with the cloning technique, but yeah, you're rate cloned DNA does have its issues. What you don't hear about as much, is the cloned animals with non-functioning lungs, kidneys or liver.

isn't that because the DNA gets damaged in the biological transferr rather then the actual cloning process?

if a clone was created perfectly(without any mess ups/Human error in the needle) would the clone have those missing organs?

Ok, but in the fluff I'm pretty sure they are referred to as mutations, not metamorphosis. but hey, we've all conceded to admit its fantasy so it doesn't need to be justified with science anymore and can simply be answered with "chaos did it", as was stated earlier.

So yeah, this has been quite a fun ego filled goose chase. I'm sure everyone has learned a great deal from you smithy, I know that I myself will be leaving this conversation truly enlightened with the exact same ammount of information as I had when I originally read this topic. And for this I salute you... oops, wrong salute... how rude of me

I don't think so. The clones are genetically identical. The secret is in how these genes are activated, when and by how much they are expressed. This is the complication which geneticists are now working on.
But yeah, if you managed to fix this regulatory issue, then it's possible, and I think even done in more simple organisms, but don't quote me on that.
