MrBakelsworth wrote:My plan for the MotF is to get the normal bike model, use the pads and possibly torso for the mechanicum cog on the shoulder pad, use the old arm for the terminator missile launcher. have the one arm pointing forward the other arm looking at an auspex and have cables and wire coming out from under his back pack like mechadendrites steering the bike.(does any of that make sense?) If your find the conversion beamer you had can you post a picture? the other list sounds good too. I would probably use the librarian though instead as I've never felt I have gotten my points worth with the chaplain.

Oh and pictures of the thunderhawk. I need to get some more forge world stuff of my own.

Edit Finally found where I read that they were still undermanned. http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Raven_Guard its down in recruitment.

Recently I haven't had time to look for the Conversion Beamer made of bits, but honestly doubt that it still exist. I have looked for it before without success. Sad really.
But the description of your Conversion Beamer sounded complex (for my brain) and also very interesting! If I ever make a new one, that's the way I would do it!
The Thunderhawk, like I said isn't exactly close to completion. It is by no means painted. I can take a couple of pics of it with my pesky 3.2 megapixel cellphone if you want?

I actually got the T-Hawk pre-owned but for a reduced price. Around £74 cheaper than the current price. It is so good-looking and I am very pleased.

Thanks for the very good link! It was packed with good info. I am thinking of playing RG marines from the 4th company. I have a proverb for them: "The Fourth Goes Forth".

I'm a fan of this list, personally:
http://yesthetruthhurts.com/2009/02/ravenguard/

To summarize:

Shrike
Librarian - Epistolary - Null Zone, Gate

10 Sternguard - 8 Combi-Meltas - Drop Pod w/ Locator Beacon

10 Tactical - Combi-Melta, Meltagun, MultiMelta - Drop Pod
10 Tactical - Combi-Melta, Meltagun, MultiMelta - Drop Pod w/ Locator Beacon
10 Scouts - Sarge w/ Power Weapon

10 Assault Squad - 2 Flamers - Power Fist
10 Assault Squad - 2 Flamers - Power Fist
10 Assault Squad - 2 Flamers - Power Fist

"Place the first tactical squad (drop pod with NO locator beacon) on the table with the Librarian attached.
Infiltrate the scouts (yes, they really are CC scouts) and one of the 3 assault squads using Shrike.
Drop the sternguard and the other tactical squad in their pods on turn 1.
Place the Assault Squads on the table and run them on turn 1.
The no locator beacon and empty tactical drop pod comes in your second ‘wave’.
Teleport the Librarians tactical squad forward on turn 1. They should teleport near the Sternguard so the Librarian can teleport them away on turn 2.

Tada. You should have 50 marines in the other guys face on turn 1, and 20 more stacking up behind in midfield."

Started wargaming with heroscape. Who says kids can't be generals?

Tournament Results:
Space Marines 2-1-0

In Soviet Russia.... you go to Gulag.

Very very sorry that I haven't had the time answering this absolutely mindblowing army list!! I would like to see the opponent's faces when 50 marines
all of a sudden pop up among his troops. My frigging G*D! I just have to hear if this have been used in any real battle?? Please give any links and/or
hints to where I can see this used! Unfortunately the club I play with doesn't allow readymade HQ personalities such as Shrike, and the next battle
I will attend (the first with my RG force) will only be a 600pt engagement. But, if I get a chance to play Apocalypse this would be the preferred list!
Yes siree!!!

Just one question: it has been a lot of talk about Drop Pods. But isn't it a little unsure to have them in the battles, as they only appear on certain dice
luck during the first 2 rounds: 4+ on the first rnd and 3+ on the second and so forth? This makes the thought of using Drop Pods unreliable doesn't it?

Half of your drop pods come in on the first turn.

Ok. Half? And then 4+, 3+, etc?

Yep, that's why people take some of them empty.

Thank you all for taking the time to give me valuable army list tips!

Now here are my own planned Raven Guard army list for the next battle (600pts):

1. One Space Marine Chaplain 100p

2. Two 5-man Space Marine Scout Squads 150p

3. Two Land Speeder Storms (for the scouts) 100p

4. Two 5-man Space Marine Tac Squads (w 1 Missile Launcher) 170p

5. Two Rhinos (for the tac marines) 70p

And I have 10p over - for what? Melta Bombs for the scout sgt and the marine tac sgt?? Or digital weapons for the chaplain???

You can't take the 2nd rhino if you combat squad the tac squad and you cant take the missile launcher if they're both 2 separate squads. Though you can take razorbacks instead of the rhinos (there are your extra ten points) which will give you a little extra dakka!

Make sure to take some pictures and do a battle report. I would love to see how it turns out!

Forgot you might not have razorbacks blah! So maybe the meltabombs unless you can get your hands on the couple of razorback parts.

Rats! Ok, I'll have to find some Razorback parts then. Can't lose both Rhinos, the matter of speed is just too important! My marines can't be walking
across the board. The thought. *shudder* Well, back to the net for some parts hunting - or maybe I have some parts lying around...! If I scratchbuild
I'd better make it look good. Have also ordered the etch and transfer sheets for the RG as well as RG Land Raider doors. Talking about doors; if I want to
customize the Thunderhawk Gunship with RG doors, is it Rhino doors or Land Raider doors I should take??

A. 1 Space Marine Chaplain w jump pack.....................................................115p
B. 1 Space Marine Assault Squad (10 men) + melta bombs............................195p
C. 2 Land Speeder Storms........................................................................100p
