Well, Northern Ireland IS part of the UK, and most Northern Irish are loyalists protestant deviants.

Sectarianism is not a point of good humour. Especially when it looks like you are making a direct put down.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. |

Agreed. Whilst it might be amusing to joke about it when you live thousands of miles away, people in NI have been kneecapped over it. Less funny.

Damnit Alb! Don't beat around the bush with me! I'll come over there and smack you with a poutine!
Besides, Northern Ireland can hardly be considered "Ireland Proper" on account of the difference in territory ratio between Ireland and NI.

Wait... with chips and gravy/cheese? That doesn't sound too bad....

I'll be sure to inform them of that when I'm there in a week's time...

Coming from a family from Ireland (Catholic North on one side, Protestant North on the other) and being raised with relatively secular views (Church every Sunday but nothing too serious after that), the feuds between the two always seemed like a petty thing to poke fun at.
I admit my mistake though, there's far too much bloodshed behind the whole thing to make a crack at.
