I find GW's citadel plastic glue to not actually bond the two pieces; If I use humbrol poly cement for example, the pieces are well and truely fused together, no amount of pulling, or exerting force on it will break the two bits apart as they are now one bit, more likely one side will break in an undesirable way first.
While with GW's glue, I can always just pop things apart easy peasy, and scrape away the residue (which is crystaline) and re assemble using a more useful glue.
If i want a permanent bond I will use poly cement. (so any brand EXCEPT games workshops...really dont know or understand why their glue sucks so much)
If I want a semi permanent bond I use superglue, If neither is strong enough I add a pin.
Being as GW's plastic glue is not permanent (it really is suposed to be? it confuses me a lot lol) I find its really not suitable for any job as superglue provides a better hold and can be snapped off easily.

'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!

A suggestion: the best glue I've used on models, plastic or metal, is Loctite super glue with the Professional Liquid label. This stuff bonds immediately and doesn't weaken. I've used it for putting models together as well as making metal jewelry and on the few occasions I needed to reposition something, the surrounding plastic broke before the glue's bond did. Five stars, and I'm not getting paid by the company to say it. It's amazing stuff.

i hate plastic glue, especially GW plastic glue. the bond is not even strong, super glue seems stronger.

also with plastic glue, it seems if you use it sparingly it doesnt bond well and if you use too much it oozes everywhere and makes a huge mess, looks terrible. maybe it's just the GW variety, but when you pull the tube away it leaves a giant string of glue in the air. That and it fricken stinks, it gives me a headache and is probably terrible health wise to breathe in.

super glue on the other hand is very nice to work with.

Yes it is the GW variety that leaves long strings and generally sucks as a plastic cement. You would also be mistaken in that superglue is a stronger bond. A good plastic glue actually melts the two pieces together forming one piece. Superglue is very weak when shear force is applied and is simply a crystalline microstructure between two pieces of plastic.
