Lost in the Warp....

I think necrons should be some kind of horde like 40 warriors and some monoliths.

Same list, different army

if your Necron opponents are losing to you, I hazard to assume that they do not know how to make a list or play it.

I have mixed results against them, dependent upon the list and general I face.

On moon miranda.

Not necessarily, Necrons are not an army well equipped for 5E. Against something like Space Wolves or Blood Angels for instance they'll be outshot, outfought, and outmanuevered and outnumbered, while against IG they really just don't have the tools to deal with huge amounts of medium armor and get shot to piss. Likewise against DE their glance ability means nothing, and they've got tons of S8+ and power weapon stuff to deny WBB and the like, in addition to outnumbering and outmaneuvering the Necrons.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
