It's been a while since I've update my Kroot Horde P&M Blog.

I finished painting my Kroots last summer. Here's a couple pictures of all 100 of them.

My 100 Kroots have already seen action in various games against Jy2.

I'm currently painting my 30 Ork Boyz and 15 Nobz Bikers death star.

While a 100 Kroots is overwhelming, it's not super competitive. Shoota Boyz are far better being cheaper in points, have a 6+ armor save (better than nothing), T4, and having the Big Mob rule. If you want to field a super competitive Ork + Tau list, I suggest you use the one found in this battle report:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/500238.page

When I have time, I'd like to test a pure gunline Tau + Ork army. It will feature Shas'el Warlord, 100 Kroots + 5 Hounds, 12 Fire Warriors, 9 Broadside, Big Mek with Kustom Force Field, and 60 Shoota Boyz. That's a lot of dakka. If positioned correctly, everyone will have a 5+ cover save. KFF doesn't need to cover all 8 units, just the front ones. Broadsides will have target locks, allowing them to counter mech spam lists. They are also good against flyers.

Here's a few pics of my Nobz Bikers:

The conversion is easy. AoBR Deffkopta + Nobz bits + Bike/Cavalry base + Lego small hard plastic wheels.

I have 12 made, 10 more to go!

Nice looking Kroot. The Deff Kaptas make nice bikes. Love the squig sitting on the power claw.

It's time to go full Skeletor

Thanks! The background for the Kroot pic clashes with their color scheme. When I have time, I'll post better pictures.

In preparations for an upcoming BAO tournament, I expanded my Ork army with two squads of Shoota Boyz. Tournaments are generally WYSIWYG, so proxying two slugga + choppa squads won't cut it. BAO also mandates each model must have minimum of three colors. Fortunately my Tau models are already painted. My Orks however are not. It's going to be a rushed job, but I think I can manage. It may not be pretty, but it should be sufficient for tabletop quality.

Here's a few pics of my primed Ork models:

Drilled holes in what used to be TL-Rokkits on coverted Nobz Bikers, making them look like TL-Dakkaguns.

There's plenty of Orks in this thread, dead or alive.

Here's an update on my Biker Boss. Still a WIP:

Ya, my new Tau models and codex arrived!

While building my Riptide, I discovered its height isn't much different compared to a gundam 144 scale model.

I dug up some of my old 1/144 scale Gundam models from my childhood. Here's a few side by side comparisons with an incomplete Riptide model.

Most of the 1/144 scale models I've collected is low end. Anyone who is considering of using a 1/144 scale gundam model as a stand-in for Riptide should consider Real Grade.
