The FAQ/Ettata says that Blood Claws get 2-3 Extra Attacks not 1-3.

Whilst true, that's still only a 1/3 chance of actually benefiting from Ragnar when he's with Blood Claws. When with his 2 Wolves, a Wolf Priest and 15 Blood Claws, that's a 21-model unit in terms of transport capacity (Wolves count as two), now I haven't looked at the Crusader profile recently, but I'm pretty confident it doesn't have a 21 model capacity...

The problem with the idea of Ragnar and the Wolfguard or Blood Claws + Priest is that, along with the near-mandatory Land Raider (crusader), his points skyrocket. Whilst they could beat anything they touch, they alone could account for half your armies points...

Personally, I believe Ragnar's best leading a Grey Hunter squad. Give the Hunters a Wolf Guard with Power Fist, a Power Fist of their own, MotW and Standard and you've only got 240pts spent on his retinue, who can score, have 2 power fists, a MotW, boltguns, 2+D3 attacks on the charge and a Wolf Standard that can affect Ragnar himself too, meaning that if you let off the standard when you charge, you can potentially re-roll to the D3 extra attacks dice.

True, but I do tend to run footsloging List so I tend not to think of Transports

Remeber i am the one with 13 Model 1,500 point list that goes to 2k when I add 2 Land Raiders as Transport.

Back on Subject: The couple couple of times I have pulled out my old Ragnar Model it has been with Grey Hunters, I have actualy not got to put him with my Blood Claws. With the Wolf Guard [2 Power Fist] Grey Hunters mixed with a Banner and MotW it is actualy very sick if I can get of the Assualt out of the Crusaider.

With a Wolf Priest I find Blood Claws very nastly. With 15 them in a LRC and the Storm Bolter and Multi-Melta I can move 6" upto almost anything and soften them up with every weapon on the LRC, all the Bolt Pistols from the BCs along with the two Flamers and not much will survive the Assualt.

Whoa. Calm down son. Don't use that term in a derogatory manner in these boards.

The rules specifically states that the D3 doesn't stack on the +2, so it's +2 at a minimum but potentially 3 on the charge.

Insult me and then get the rules completely wrong...
As Dave said the D3 replaces the normal charge bonus but BC get either 2 or 3 attacks on charge.

They are a lower-than-vanilla-marine model count army, like GK, only less Mat Ward.

Just a little update, not sure if anyone will be interested in seeing these, but I'm quite happy with how they are coming along, any feedback is welcome, positive or negative, still got a long way to go to getting more units finished as I have very little time to paint, but if there is interest here I'll keep chucking up photos as I go along. Hope you enjoy.
