You know what I hate about Ranks? Battlefield Bad Company 2.
We started playing that game because my brother is about to go over to Iraq, and we wanted something to play together. Anyway, not only does it make it where you have to rank up, but it makes it where you can't. freakin. do. ANYTHING. against Tanks with certain classes. And lets not forget making the Medic unable to heal people, OR the Sniper with a piss poor Sniper Rifle.
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

I think that's ok. It gives you a reason to pick a certain class and focus mainly on the one you'll be using most of the time. I just stuck with engineer. The vehicle that is a total pain in the ass to destroy are the helicopters.
Maybe you hang out with immature women. Maybe you're attracted to immature women because you think they'll let you shpadoink them.

I could see that for stuff like Tank Mines, and Locking on Missles.
But for a Medic Class to be unable to Defib someone who just got Headshotted, just because he hasn't played the class yet.... You have to admit, it's kind of stupid.

Find a different game to play together because you're complaining about one of the things that makes BF great and fairly unique in the neo fps era, the teamwork. You're not susposed to be able to do everything on your own.
My Armies:
- Death Wing and Green Wing
- Tacticals and Devastators
- Retired

DickBandit wrote: Is it just me, or does it seem like most gamers are just obsessed with their ranking? Everyone has that "play to win AT ALL COSTS!!" attitude that I feel ruins the fun in games. I'm not the best at fighting games, but it seems that a lot of people just want to spam one attack continuously until they win. For example: I recently picked up Marvel VS Capcom 3 and every time I play against a person online who uses Deadpool in their team will rush to the corner of the screen and use the handgun attack non-freakin-stop. After the 10th time this happened I sent the guy a message saying "You know, Deadpool has more than just that one attack." To which he replied: "Yeah, but I still beat you." ...Really? I could care less if I lose, but when it gets to the point that it ruins the fun of the game because I have to try to get around obnoxious attacks like that winning and losing don't matter. In fact, they never really matter just as long as I can play a match that is fun.
FUN. Isn't that the point of video games?
You've only got 478 posts, so I can't really agree with you
I think people take it well too seriously tho. I was playing MW2 in my friends house a while back for ps3 and before he let me play online I had to set up my own profile so I wouldn't ruin his K/D!
I think Reach isn't as competitive as CoD or some other games as all you get for ranking up is armor which does nothing so a low ranking player and a high one have exactly the same chances against each other because one hasn't camped for 3 months and got the best weapon available!

It's mostly the inability of a Medic to heal people that grinds my gears about the system.
TF2 pulls off unique classes while not requireing anyone to HAVE to go certain ones, why can't BC2?
